- Scaramouche's POV -
I woke up somewhere I didn't recognize at first. I would've slept more, but the rumbling under me was hard to ignore. I got up, the red leaves flying above me.
It seemed so nostalgic.
I decided to walk forward. I didn't look around me. The people did, though, with terrified looks on their faces.
"Is that... it?"
"You shouldn't approach it... heard it was a bad idea."
Were they talking about me? Was I it?
The cherry blossoms were blooming. I never realized Tatarasuna was so close to Narukami Island.
Makoto's statue.
Transience.
It looked so old.
There were no Visions.
No guards.
And the people were happy.
Until I passed them.
"It is supposed to be a curse."
"Why did it come back here?"
I was getting so close to Tenshukaku. So close to her.
"Worthless doll."
"Abomination."
"Why didn't She just destroy it?"
Those voices kept on going.
It was painful.
I covered my ears.
They're bleeding.
I'm but a doll without a heart.
So why do I cry? Why do I bleed?
Why do I have human emotions?
They're right. She should've just destroyed me.
Because I'm but a worthless, cursed doll, hiding in the shadow of the Raiden Shogun.
I never should've woken up.
Why?
Why do I exist?
I'm right in front of Tenshukaku.
I could tell her to destroy me.
So why?
Why can't I enter it?
"Kunikuzushi."
"Without you, the Shogun couldn't have been created."
"But you are still too fragile."
"You will never be able to withstand Eternity."
"Goodbye, Kunikuzushi."
"Scaramouche!!"
I opened my eyes. Kazuha was right besides me.
So that was a dream? Why did it feel so real?
"Scaramouche, are you okay?"
I nodded at him.
"Sorry. I had a nightmare"
