Oh Lord, you made me capable of pain
You made the storm itself the only shore for my boat,
Collecting all the unease in the entire world, when nothing could be made, you decided to make with it my heart.

Locking the bedroom door, Ghasaan stepped into the hall, suited up for his board meeting, he descended the stairs of the estate, typing away on his phone as he surfed through emails, starring the ones he would get back to once he had the time. Stepping off the last step onto the inlayed marble flooring of the haveli's ground floor, he passed by the kitchen, where Aaina whined to Kashaf Lashari after breakfast,

"Ami pleaaasseeeee" she stretched out, widening her eyes and pouting slightly, hoping her mother would give in to her demands

"Aaina." A single syllable and a hard glare from her mother was all Aaina needed to know her words were set in stone, and there was no point in trying to cajole her.

Huffing out loud, she stomped her feet childishly, groaning in frustration,

"Ami mujhe gajray chahiye!"

(Mum, I want gajray)

Her ziddi side was making an appearance this morning, after all she was the spoilt little princess of the house -whatever she wanted was laid in her feet, but her demands were never completely outrageous.

She didn't want an S-class Mercedes, just some gajray to wear to the event tonight.

"Aaina, mana kar Diya na. Sab raat ki tayyari May masroof hain, iss waqt kon jayega sheher gajray lenay? Tumhe pehle keh dena chahiye tha."

(Aaina, I've said no, everybody is busy preparing for tonight and nobody can go to the city to get them now. You should've asked before.)

Kashaf Lashari tried to make her daughter understand for the last time, her patience had been running terribly low and by now she was only hanging on by a splinter.

"Theek hay May Azlaan bhai se keh deti hoon,"

(Alright, I'll ask Azlaan)

The girl swerved on her heels, stepping forth to head to Azlaan's room while munching on a grape she picked out of the fruit bowl, before her elbow was grasped and she was pulled back by her mother

"Wo meeting ke liye gaya hay, bilkul pareshan Mat karna," her mother scolded,

(He's gone for a meeting, don't inconvenience him.)

Aaina's pout intensified, she murmured out her last feeble attempt,

"Ghasaan bhai?"

Only to have her hopes crushed,

Ghasaan's ears perked up at the mention of his name outside the kitchen, he suppressed a smile as he heard Kashaf Lashari voice out a frustrated,

"Khabardaar!"

(Don't you dare!)

She dismissed Aaina's cries, ignored her presence and diverted her attention to instructing the maids to clean up and start lunch preparations, leaving Aaina to whine and cry out loud dramatically to no one in particular.

Shaking his head, he averted his attention back to emails, making his way to the main door of the haveli leading into the driveway.
