Broken

Chapter 6

Percy's POV

It was the night after the burning and I was trying to sleep. Unfortunately, I knew that with sleep came nightmares, but with sleep I got to see Annabeth, and if I was lucky she wasn't in pain. I finally fell asleep after having to dry my pillow twice from all the tears I had cried.
"Don't to want to see your friends little demigod? Let me kill you, and you can join them. You will be happier there. Soon I will regain control over the earth, and wake from my slumber. You may have delayed me, but you have not destroyed me yet. Don't you want to spend the remainder of your life, dead with your friends? Because you will die when I rise to my full power, but at least you'll get to enjoy Elysium with them for a little while." Gaea taunted me. "Your girlfriend is not happy down there in Elysium without you." She showed me a picture of Annabeth sadly sitting there drawing our names in the sand and crying. It broke my heart even more to see her like that. "Don't you want her to smile like she did with you?" She showed me an image of Annabeth and I together during the summer when they first started dating. "Just let my minions kill you, then you can be with Annabeth again. We all win." Gaea bargained. I was tempted to except, but I knew she was lying. "Never" I spat at her. "Fine demigod, I tried to be nice." Gaea said. "All my monsters are waiting for you, Percy Jackson, just you wait. At least if you had excepted my offer, your death would've been quicker." She told him then disappeared. I turned around and saw a herd of monsters coming towards me. I ran and ran, until I saw a small room. I went in,turned around and looked the door. All of a sudden someone was banging on the door. "Let me in!!" Someone screamed. "No no no no! If I open the door the monsters will come. They will come and rip the heart out of me. The monsters are coming I can't open the door!!" I explained to them. "Let me in there are no monsters it's ok." "I can't let you in or the monsters will come." I curled up into a ball and started rocking back and forth. "The monsters are coming. They are going to kill me." The pounding continued and the louder the pounding got, the faster I rocked back and forth. I was crying and muttering " The monsters are coming." over and over. I was scared out of my mind. All of a sudden I heard a crash and felt someone shaking me. "THE MONSTERS!!! THEY GOT ME!" I screamed.
My eyes shot open, and I saw Thalia shaking me. I looked around my room and saw that my door had been broken down. "Are you ok Percy?" She asked me. "No th...the monsters and and I was being chased and and Gaea." I stuttered between sobs. Thalia sat down and I told her my nightmare. When I was done, she gave me a hug and we both cried and comforted each other, which was better then crying by myself.
