"Afternoon Happy Campers" I teased walking into English where Hayden and Freddie sat with faces like a slapped ass
"What's got you so chipper" Freddie asked
"What's got you so moody" I rebutted making him roll his eyes
"What's his problem?" I asked Hayden
"Ellen broke up with him" Hayden whispered before earning a slap from Freddie

"Why did she do that?" I asked
"Something about bumping into her letter guy and hitting it off?" Hayden said earning another slap
Hayden shot a glare to Freddie while I grabbed Freddie arm from slapping him again
"What did mummy tell you about hitting your friends" I warned him
"You don't have many so count your blessings" I said making him roll his eyes again

I mean, if Freddie didn't hate the project before, he most certainly will now that Ellen broke up with him
Not going to lie, I'm more then confused on that but I've learnt not to ask after all.. I don't want to be slapped too

"How are you letters coming along?" Hayden asked 
"Alright, the guy seems alright. I've only read one, how about you?" I asked 
"Olivia seems sweet, she lives in a mad house though" He laughed
"What about you Fred?" I asked
"You had Alex right?" Hayden asked trying to get him involved in our conversation
"Turns out Alex, is a she" He said making me raise my brow
"So your assumption was wrong. That's a good step into the project" I said making him glare at me again

It wasn't long before our English teacher was telling us to get stuck in and read another letter, to which I happily obliged
Taking out the second letter and seeing the familiar scruffy handwriting labelling the letter 2

'Hello hello,

This is meant to be about someone important to me and if you read the first letter well enough. You'd know who it is 
It's Piper

Piper and I like I said, butt heads like no tomorrow but we've also pulled each out from a lot of sinking ships too 
She was a little bit of a shock to the family
Mum and Dad were happy with me and didn't expect to have another child 
But Piper, she had other plans 

It would seem she was the blessing we all needed before we knew we needed her, Piper is 4 years younger then me and I can't help but be glad for our small yet mighty age gap
I've watched her grow up from an age where I understood things 
She's been my saving grace in a lot of situations and I can't help but be there for her when she needs

The thing with Piper is she is very timid, she's shy, she's Piper
No matter what you do or say, she'll never be fully comfortable with someone who isn't family. We learnt that the hard way
But god, I know one of these days she's going to trust someone else and it'll be the most beautiful thing to see

Piper has been hurt a lot through out her life by people she thought were her friends, I've been there to pick up the pieces and I don't plan to ever stop that 
She's there when I need her and I can't help but do the same 

She's my little pipesqueak

James'

It would seem that James and Piper are very tight knit, it reminds me a lot of how Em and I used to be before our little fall out. Don't get me wrong, I could call her and she would answer
But no matter how hard we try
There is no going back to how we once was

I just hope that never happens to James and Piper
I don't know them but I know what they have is special 
And I know when Piper finds that person she can trust, whether it be a friend or something more

James is right. It'll be beautiful
