TW: TALK OF DEATH, (also the prologue was in third person just so you could get and outside look on how Y/n and Eren viewed each other the first time they met. I am switching over to second person for both Y/n and Eren's povs' from now on!!)

Why do humans fear death? Isn't only natural that we can finally lay in peace after the long walk of life?

The thought of life and death swirled through your mind. You think about death a lot, not that you want to take your life, it's just the thought of death itself is intriguing. Tonight, the word 'death' crossed your mind more than usual as you stood on the small bridge connecting the land sandwiching the bubbling stream. Some day, you thought, this stream will either be a flowing river full of life or it will simply cease to exist. One day, I hope to be the river, but as of now I am content with being a small brook in the middle of a walking trail. But there is always the possibility of 'ceasing to exist'. Is that what death is? Ceasing to exist. Or is there something beyond physical death? Is it possible to live forever?

I want to live; not forever, no, but I do want to live.

The stars seemed to scintillate against the melancholy blue of the night sky. You've always loved the night, especially when it's raining. The feeling that even the most abstract part of our universe can hold the mere emotion of sorrow has always amazed you. The heavens are crying, crying for every one of us, shedding the tears that we cannot.

Pulling your eyes away from the twinkling stars you slowly walk back to the dormitories, relishing the last of your excursion. Breathing in deeply, the scent of the evening dew fills your nose; closing your eyes and letting your hands fall to your side you just stand there, not wanting to move. You know how blessed you are to have the privilege of attending a private college, not just a private college, but one that was surrounded by the most alluring forest you had ever laid eyes on. Slowly letting your eyes open you let out a soft giggle as the figure of the woman you loved most made her way over to you.

"Mikasa!" you shouted as quietly as possible, "Over here, by the bridge!" The girl delicately skips over to you, lifting her pale skirt over her ankles to keep it from drowning in dew. She laughs happily when she reaches you, wrapping her arms around your waist and twirling you around effortlessly.

Setting you down she smiles brightly and gracefully sweeps the hair out of her eyes, "I have to say, running through the field in this skirt most definitely made me feel like a princess."

You gently lifted her hand to you lips, placing a soft kiss on the most prominent part, "You are a princess, Lady Mikasa." She laughs as you twirl her around, the hem of her skirt dancing with the wind. Finally collapsing on the ground into a giggling mess after tripping over the branch of a young tree. You hug Mikasa tightly and ask in excitement, "When did you get here, I've been alone all day!"

Mikasa looks at you with a smile, "I hitched a ride with Connie and Sasha, we got here about an hour ago," she sighs, "I saw your things, so I hurried to unpack, practically running to come and find you." Her eyes shimmered in the light of the moon adding a spark to her smirk. You hadn't seen her since the end term of the previous school year; she had been traveling with her younger sister Kyra.

"Where are the twins?" You questioned, everyone referred to Connie and Sasha as "the twins" ever since the two first met.

"Huh?" Mikasa pondered out loud while ripping an Oak leaf into tiny pieces, "Oh, Connie is with Jean, they went to the little convenient shoppe to grab some treats for Sasha and Hitch."

"Ah, I see." You giggled wondering how the girls convinced the two to spend money on their food.

Mikasa reached over and gave you a gentle poke on the shoulder, "I told them to get something for us as well," she smiled gently the moon, "When did you get here anyways?"
