"How are Frisk and Chara?" Asriel asked as he stopped beside the tired and worried skeleton. He looked at him and sighed, glancing back at the doors before them.
"they're alright, kid, just resting up. frisk is still out, but at least she's not dying. and til is helping chara a bit with his sanity, so that's a plus of having someone other than alma and the souls to help out."
Asriel nodded and reached forward, pulling open the door and stepping into the room. All of the chairs were filled, everyone waiting for the duo to step forward.
"Good afternoon, Ambassadors Gaster and Dreemurr. Please, come up to the podium. We would like to talk to you," Ambassador Evon said as she stood up and motioned to the table in the center of the room. Sans nudged Asriel closer, silently reminding him of the role the skeleton plays regarding humans and monsters. Asriel sighed and stepped up, looking at the collective of humans who merely stared down at him.
"What is this about?" he asked.
"We are in talks currently with some government officials regarding the possible war. But we were hoping to speak with Frisk and Chara regarding this matter. Are they alright?" Sans sighed and stepped forward.
"issues arose regarding the two and they were injured. chara is resting and frisk is currently unconscious. that is why prince asriel and i came in their place," he said as he glared up at the semi-circle of humans staring down at him. Ambassador Evon glanced over his shoulder and sighed, turning back to the two before him.
"If... that is all that you wished to speak about, Sans and I will be leaving," Asriel began, turning and starting to head for the doors.
"No, Ambassador Dreemurr, that is not all." A voice stopped him in his tracks, snapping even Sans attention back to the humans. Asriel turned and looked toward the voice, feeling a small twitch of fear fall over him.
"Ambassador Russo," Asriel said as he bowed his head a little, keeping an eye on Sans. He was glaring silent daggers at the Embassy leader.
Chara glanced at the file in his hands, continuously reading the name writing in cursive. Sighing, he opened it and picked up the small picture within. Brushing a finger over it, he smiled a bit. Within the sepia filter where two figures settled amongst flowers of a similar golden hue to the lens. Their faces were unseeable, cut up at the top, but the pale skin and white fur spared his mind of naming them. His smile faded a bit at the words written behind it. Chara Dreemurr, 19 years old.
"Chara, you good?" He glanced up at the figure beside him.
"Hey, Til. Yeah, I'm fine. Just reading my file. Shouldn't you have one too? I know Gaster likes making some for anyone he takes care of," he responded, setting the folder on the mattress. "But then again, it's probably not completed or anything." Til laughed and plopped down on the bed nearby.
"Nah, it's fine. Gaster told me if I ever needed a place to stay, the lab would be fine."
"How come?"
"Oh, I tried to have a rational conversation over the phone with my parents and they told me if I wouldn't change my mind about monsters I wasn't welcome in the family so... Guess I no longer have a house to live in," Til laughed and glanced away, rubbing his arm a bit. "But, uhm... Captain Undyne came by, offered to train me a bit after hearing my parents shouting at me, so... later this week uhm... yeah."
Chara laughed and shook his head, smiling at his companion. After a bit of silence, Til left, waving goodbye to him and leaving him alone again. Picking up the file, he got up and made his way toward one of the rooms, gently knocking on the door as he reached up with his free hand to his chest. Ow. I need some meds right now. The door opened and the figure inside muttered something to another, the deep voice responding in kind to what was said. Pay attention, Chara.
"Chara, are you alright?"
"Yeah, G. Just... I need some medicine right now..." Chara muttered, leaning against the wall. "You're not too busy, are you?"
"No, I am not. Come, let's get you back to bed and get you some medicine, Dreemurr." Chara nodded and started to make his way back to the massive bedroom. Gaster followed, reaching into his coat pocket as his phone buzzed. Something's up, Chara thought. He plopped down on the bed and glanced up at the skeleton as he picked up a small bottle. Its contents rattled and Chara held out his hand, watching as two small tablets fell out and landed in his palm.
"Thanks. Something happening?" he asked, pointing toward the cell. "I noticed it buzz a few times."
"Just Sans updating me in regards to the meeting today," Gaster said, setting the bottle back on the shelf he grabbed it from. "I can tell you're worried about Frisk. Unfortunately, she's still unconscious but she's stable. I haven't been able to check on her as often as I wanted."
Chara nodded and glanced at the sheets that were matted from his movements. A hand gently picked up the file from his hands.
"Oh, I uhm... I was reading it," he murmured. Gaster smiled a bit and handed it back.
"Of course. Take plenty of time to rest, Chara."
"Got it, G."
"If you recall, my brother and Frisk asked for a palette of bottled water. We have yet to hear back regarding that," Asriel stated as he heard a barely audible growl escape Sans's mouth. The ambassadors glanced back at Ambassadors Evon and Russo.
"I have been speaking with-"
"forgive me for interrupting, but i highly doubt that you have been talking with others in order to provide and deliver water to the monster city," Sans said, cutting the human off and stepping forward. The ambassadors shifted and glanced at Ambassador Russo. He was sitting up for the first time, glaring down at the monster pair before him.
"I hope you don't intend to continue speaking to me in such a way, GASTER," he said. Sans growled and stepped back,
"perhaps if you bothered to understand our struggle and fear, you would take this more seriously."
"Ambassador Gaster, I genuinely pray you didn't forget what your role is was when it comes to monsters and humans."
"i know my role. i judge humans. i judge monsters. however, it does not mean i take such disrespect like this so easily. i do not work under you, i work under my own morals and principles. do not try to use my role against me," Sans retorted, turning and beginning to leave the room. "i don't like being taken advantage of, so don't bother trying to anymore."
"Sans, wait," Asriel practically begged the skeleton. He stopped in front of the doors and teleported back to the royal, shutting his eyes and listening.
"Before you two leave, we have a proposal."
