Part 7

We got back to the Château and circled around John B as he was about to open the small black bag.

"What do you think it is"I asked

"Gotta be money right"John B asked

"Yeah or a couple of Keys with street value to the low-to-mid-mills"JJ joked

"Just open the bag"Pope yelled

"Damn Pope that was a rare outburst of emotion"I said

"You guys are killing me, we almost died over this"He said loudly.

John B opened the bag and pulled out a canester.
He opened the canester and tipped it so whatever was in it would fall out.A compass fell into his hands.

"Good job everyone, we found a compass"Pope said

"Dude what?Thats not worth anything"JJ said

"It was my fathers"John B said subtly.

John B Pov
The following day I woke up eary to drop off the tanks. Once I got back I took a nap on the couch.

"DCS I know your in there "JJ yelled knocking on the window.

I woke up and walked out the door to him since we planned to head to Lana Grubs house.Once we were almost there JJ spoke up.

"I'm just saying I don't understand why you don't Just try with Y/n she clearly likes you.Shes like
'Oh John B'"

"Is that what she does"I asked getting annoyed

"She was sketch about you diving, then she kissed you"He said

"On the cheek, its not like we were making out"I replied quickly.

"Don't pretend you dont notice.I see it in your eyes.
Your like "I kinda like that" and you start blushing"He said

"I blush"I asked

"Yeah man,you know its pretty wack your old mans compass was in Scooter Grubs boat."JJ said

"Yeah which is why were here"I replied

"Im sure she'll love to talk to us.Its not like her husband drowned or anything."He said sarcastically as we neared the house.

"This place looks like whoever lives here smokes alot of weed"He said  looking at the colorful exterior.

Just then we heard yelling and glass shatter.

"Where is it"The loud voices called.

We could hear faint cries coming from inside.
I ducked under the window and signaled for JJ to do the same.Whoever was inside the house was causing a ruckus that made the paint chip off the outside wall.The two men exited the house and got back in their truck.

"Those were the guys that shot at us"JJ whispered

He followed me into the house while I searched around for Lana.

"Ms. Lana?"I called out.
I found her on the floor inbetween a doorway.

"Hey,you okay?Do you need a docto. I'll call the sherif"I asked then told.

"No no cops"She said shaking

"Come on man lets get out of here"JJ said trying to get me to leave.

"What do you know about these guys"I asked

"They were looking for something"She answered

"This?"I asked pulling out the compas.
"It was my fathers"I told her

Her eyes widened.
"You need to leave.Don't tell anyone you have it."She yelled

"C'mon man"JJ said
