Chapter 2

500 years...It had been that long since I came here. After I had left that place that Echidna had kept me up in, I was still unable to manipulate space, or rather I was unable to manipulate space from this dimension to another.

I was able to move from one place to another just as easily as I always have though. But that didn't solve the issue of going back to Japan either, it was a good thing I signed that contract, or so I thought. While it did slightly annoy me it's not that I was actually leaving anything behind so the feeling was rather short lived.

I had ended up being in this dimension longer than I had expected. I have lived infinite life spans but that doesn't mean the time I've spent here was close to that long. Not that that fact made me develop any sentimental value of this place.

But all of that was of no importance to me. What was on my mind currently was this strange feeling I had. At first, I thought it might've just been me being "out of it", but then once it happened a second time I was sure.
Someone was altering time. After the first time, it went from the night, noon, then from the afternoon to noon once more.

It had been long since I sensed distortions in space-time, so I was unsure at first, but now I was sure. I used spatial motion to appear in a less populated area in the capital of Ligunica. That's where the distortions originated from so that's where I was going to go. And so I seemingly manifested there from thin air, before I began my search which in actuality was completed before I even realized it.

Subaru was confused. Everything wasn't as he expected. People he thought he saw die were suddenly alive, people he thought he met just a day earlier already treated him as if he were a stranger. and most importantly he got stabbed twice yet here he was uninjured. Maybe if he were some superhuman "cheat character" it'd all make sense but so far he was confused left and right. But more than that he was exhausted. "Satella" or whatever her name actually was, was shunning him for calling her by "the witch of envy's name" or something of the like. Then felt someone he had seen get killed before come out of nowhere and steal an insignia that should've already been stolen? "Satella" had run off and Subaru had given chase but he was quickly left behind in an alley.

"Could someone just treat me a little nicer?" he exasperatedly complained. "Why was I even... summoned to this world" he tiredly spoke in between breaths. He staggered down the alley. "What are you babbling about?" He heard a high-pitched voice patronizingly ask. He turned to see the three thugs he had already encountered 3 times before. "If you don't want to get hurt cough up all you got!" they spat such a generic line like it was par for the course followed with a laugh. "Would you stop it already?!" Subaru snapped. "No one is this damn persistent!" He added. "You think you can Mouth off to us?" the thin and lanky one snapped back as he pulled knives from behind him. Subaru had beaten the three thugs off before so he was rather unconcerned

"You're in my way I have somewhere I need to go!" He replied trying to shove his way past them thoughtlessly. "Ah" Subaru let out a small gasp. Suddenly he fell to the ground. There was a strange warmth in his lower back. As he looked towards the warmth Subaru realized why he had collapsed.
There was a knife embedded in his lower back.

"Goah... Gga..."

The moment he realized this, a terribly sharp pain ran through him and blocked his throat. This extremely pure and primal pain even robbed him of the ability to writhe in agony.

I've been stabbed... Stabbedstabbedstabbedstabbedstabbedstabbedstabbed.

"You stabbed him?" asked a distant voice but Subaru was too distracted to know who had said it. You've got to be kidding me. "N-no he walked into my blade," said another panicked voice.
