Klaus was staring at Selena who was sleeping peacefully, he smiled weakly before tugging a strand of her hair behind her ear. He couldn't sleep, after everything that had happened with his children, he felt more than lucky to have her as his wife who gave him the twins and Stella. Who fought by his side, who loved him even after everything he did
He slowly stood up making sure not to wake her up as he find his way to Stella's room because it was the nearest. The door was already open and she was sleeping, he smiled and walked towards her covering her with her blanket. He kissed her forehead gently and left
When he opened Kaine's room, he wasn't there. The bed wasn't even touched, he quickly ran out of the room to look for his son. He entered the liquor room but he was no where to be seen, he walked upstairs to the rooftop to see him standing there
"Kaine" he carefully called as he tried to approach him, the worst case scenario had plagued Klaus' mind in that moment
"Don't worry, dad. I'm not suicidal, I just couldn't sleep" he assured him as he was overlooking the French Quarter "How's mom?"
"Sleeping" Klaus replied as he stood next to him with a worried look "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine" he said through numb lips making his father sigh in frustration
