Avery's POV

I'm trapped, please let me out of here. Why can't anyone hear me? Hello? Anyone?

Maybe this is the end, maybe just maybe I'll finally be at peace.

BANG!

My eyes tardily begin to open from the reverberant noise, my head is pounding and I feel discomforting pains all over my body.

How long have I been passed out for?

Too long.

I look down at the mess I have created, my arms have been drawn on with that stupid blade. The blood had mostly dried up, but everything was so visible.

Why did I let the blade win? I should've fought harder.

I grab the edge of the bathroom counter to brace myself from stumbling over, no matter how sore I am, I have to get ready for work.

I slowly make my way to my closest and I take a look at my outfit choices, there wasn't much but I manage to find a pair of leggings and a light grey sweater. It wasn't the appropriate work clothing but I'm sure Susan will be ok with it, she's an understanding lady and I've talked to her about some of my struggles before, she acknowledges me as a person and not as my problems. She has stated before that she believes an individuals problems do not define them as a person and I admire that about her.

After choosing my outfit, I limp back to the bathroom and turn on the shower. I slowly begin to undress, trying to be as careful as I could be; my body was sore from all the damage.

I finish my usual routine I would normally do in the morning and I head out the door, I don't bother to look for my parents, I don't want to face them after what happened last night.

Time passes on and I arrive at work, the first thing I need to do is explain to Susan why I look the way I do. I head towards the back and I see Susan making her famous apple pie; her apple pie is one of the best selling desserts we sell in the store.

Before I could approach her, Susan turns around and she takes a good look at me, without saying a word, she just nods at me, indicating that she knew what I was going to say.

Wow. She's like a mind reader.

"You'll be at the register today honey," Susan kindly said to me as she turned back around to make her pie.

I'm glad I'm not waiting today, I don't feel like talking to other people that I don't know. It feels unusual to think that, but it's the truth, I've dealt with so much in the past 24 hours, I don't know how much more I can take.

I stand behind the register and pull out my book that I am reading, as I'm reading, my hands start to shake and my breathing hastily picks up. Why is this happening to me now? I'm in the middle of work, can I please just get a break for once.
