Chapter 5 - Devils Gathering

Three Weeks Later...

After having spent a while today hanging out with Yoshiko, as we began the walk home, Yoshiko jumped slightly and said "Oh, I nearly forgot to tell you: the other day I received a message from some of my little devils. It appears they wish to have a gathering with their mistress. And in addition, they earnestly have informed me that my right hand little devil would be welcome to join in this gathering."

After a slight pause to work out what she said completely, I said "So some of your fans suggested a meetup and said it'd be alright if I came with?"

"If you want to take all the flair out of it, that is indeed what I said." Yoshiko said

"In that case, I'd gladly accompany my Lady Yohane." I said, smiling at her, "All I need to know is when and where I should meet you."

Yoshiko began to smile more earnestly and said "Then I'll send you the details later."

"Sounds good." I said

As we walked the rest of the way to her home, she started to talk about how she was looking forward to this upcoming meetup, and I had to convince her to not wear some of her more eccentric fallen angel outfits

One Week Later...

After taking the train all the way to Tokyo and having to find our way to the address we were given, we found ourselves in front of a karaoke store. While I didn't really bring anything besides the essentials, Yoshiko had brought a bag of things, which I've ended up carrying for her.

"So this is it huh?" I said. The place seems like it's a nice enough place. Honestly, part of why I was as interested as I was to go was in case there was somebody who tried creeping on Yoshiko, I could protect her, but this whole area seems nice enough, and I doubt that something like that'll happen.

"Let's go in" Yoshiko excitedly said "I got a message on the way here saying which room they'd be in."

We headed into the karaoke place and found our way to room six. I wonder if in any way they chose room six on purpose...

As we stepped into the room, I saw three girls, one of whom excitedly said "It really is Mistress Yohane!"

I started to smile slightly, seeing how happy Yoshiko seemed with all of this. Something about seeing Yoshiko being happy makes any mood I have instantly better.

"Hello my little devils." Yoshiko said "I'm glad to see that my dark message has reached you."

"Of course it has, we watch all of your streams!" one girl said

"I'm glad to hear that, as a reward, shall I read into your futures?" Yoshiko said, taking her bag from me and pulling out a crystal ball.

"You do fortunes? Why haven't you told me about this?" I said, curious

"I'll be sure to do yours another day," Yoshiko said "But for now, I'll peer into the chaos of this realm and reveal it to these little devils."

Yoshiko quickly pulled multiple things out of her bag such as a robe and a black feather, and gathered around a table with the three.

As Yoshiko gave fortunes to the girls, I sat off to the side, watching Yoshiko enjoy herself so much, when one of the girls walked up to me and sat down beside me. "So you're Mistress Yohane's right hand little devil? It's nice to meet you too."

"It certainly looks like I am, and it's good to meet you too." I responded

"How come you're over here?" she asked

"I'm happy to just watch Yohane enjoy herself." I said, my lips curled into a smile "Besides, outside of her, I'm not exactly the best at talking to people." Although I certainly try to avoid seeming like it in front of her. I can't help but feel like Yoshiko finding out about how I've slowly gotten more withdrawn with age would be embarrassing.

"I see. Still, I certainly didn't expect Mistress Yohane to have a boyfriend."

At this, I felt my cheeks heat up some. "We're not like that, I've just known her for a long time, and I want to keep supporting her."

She looked at me for a moment before smiling and said "I see, in that case good luck."

"Right." I said "By the way, if I can convince her, I think I may be able to give the people who watch her streams a treat in October."

"I'll look forward to it." the girl said before she headed back to join Yoshiko at the table where she still was finding out their fortunes

I let out a deep sigh and rubbed the back of my neck. The stuff about being Yoshiko's boyfriend... maybe that happening one day would be nice, but who's to say if I'll ever be more to her than just her childhood friend. I mean I dunno about if it's the same when it's a dude, but from what I know, the childhood friend rarely wins. But hey, being her childhood friend is pretty fun too. I stretched out and got up to join Yoshiko and the girls. Yoshiko is pretty perceptive, and I worry that if I sit off to the side the whole meetup she'll start to think I got dragged here, which is no way the truth.

As it started to get later, the meetup came to an end. Alongside her reading their fortunes, Yoshiko also had heard their thoughts on her streams, sang for her adoring audience, and plenty more things.

As Yoshiko checked her phone, her eyes widened and said "We need to make sure to not miss the next train back, otherwise there's no way we'll get back by my curfew."

With a smile on my face, I jokingly said "Then shall we get going?"

"Right." Yoshiko responded

The two of us headed to the station, finding our way back much quicker than when we were finding our way here; however, as we got half way there, Yoshiko tripped on a curb and she fell.

As Yoshiko got up, she winced slightly. "I take it you hurt your ankle or something?" I said

"Yeah, it's going to be hard to get to the station before the next train leaves now." Yoshiko said

"I have a way in mind." I said as I turned to have my back to her and crouched.

"Wait, are you suggesting?" Yoshiko said

"Well if it hurts to put pressure on your leg right now, I'd suggest you get on." I said

Yoshiko hesitantly got onto my back, and as she carried her bag, I gave her a piggyback until we were closer to the station.

We managed to get there just in time, and as we got on the train, we both relaxed some.

"Alright, I say that turned out pretty well." I said

"Yeah, besides the end, it was pretty fun." Yoshiko said

The two of us talked for a while longer before Yoshiko ended up taking a nap until the train arrived in Numazu. As her head ended up leaning against me, I took a look at her, and could no longer deny the fact that I love this girl and I want to be with her.
