Dragon Girl x Reader Part 3 (friends to ?)

Nuri POV:
     What is this feeling I experience every time I look at Y/N? I want to see them happy. Their wellbeing means so much to me. I find it hard to sleep if they aren't right there next to me.I can't explain why though. I've never felt anything like this before and it's very confusing.
     Y/N is currently sitting against me as I lay on the floor of my cave. Feeling them relaxing brings me a certain peace of mind.

Your POV:
It's early morning. You're sitting down and leaning on Nuri when she morphs into her humanoid form. She looks toward you and she seems a little nervous.

Nuri: ... Y/N?
Y/N: Yeah? What's up?
Nuri: You.. do not have anywhere else to go, correct?
Y/N: ... Yeah.. I really appreciate you giving me a place to stay, but I have no idea when I'll be able to get out of your hair. Er, scales..
Nuri: Well, if you wish to, I would not mind if you stayed here for good.
Y/N: ... Are.. are you serious?
Nuri: Only if you would like to, of course. I won't force you to-

You interrupt her by tackling her into a hug. You finally had a place you could really call home, along with someone you could really call a friend. You're so happy, that without thinking, you kiss her. It was quick, but it very much happened.

Nuri: I.. I suppose I'll take that as a yes?

You realize what you just did and you let go of Nuri.

Y/N: Oh! Um... s-sorry.. Yes.. I just... thank you..
Nuri: It's alright. Honestly... it was not unpleasant.

     Both of you are blushing hard. You can't look Nuri in the eye, but you smile all the same.

Y/N: Um.. Still though... it came out of nowhere. I just wasn't thinking. I haven't had a home in so long. I'm really happy...
Nuri: That is understandable. I'm happy too. I enjoy having you around.

     You hug Nuri again, gentler this time, and she hugs you back. You feel safe and warm with her. You also could swear you hear a soft rumbling sound. Is Nuri... purring? Do dragons even purr at all? Well, either way both of you are very happy in this moment.
     You stay cuddled up for another few minutes before Nuri needs to go hunt. While she's gone, you begin to talk to yourself.

Y/N: I love her. I wasn't sure before, but I'm sure now. I wouldn't have absentmindedly kissed her if I didn't. How am I gonna tell her though? If she hasn't already figured it out I mean... I did kiss her...

     Your mind races with plans to tell Nuri how you feel.

Nuri POV:
I left the cave under the guise of hunting, but I really just need to think.
Nuri: Oh my gods... Did.. did they really do that?
Thinking about what happened makes me feel all warm.
Nuri: I... liked it. They kissed me and I liked it. Is it possible I've developed, feelings for them?
The more I thought about it, the more I was sure it was true. I wanted them. They're my treasure.
Nuri: No! No... We can't... They're human. They deserve a normal relationship.
That thought made me sad. And the thought of Y/N being with somebody else made me angry. I needed to put my own feelings aside though. I cared about Y/N a lot, and their happiness is way more important to me than getting what I want..
