Hitting Reset Season 5: Family Life Part 3

July 9th

The Next Morning:
Matt's POV: As I walked out of our master bathroom shortly after taking my morning shower, I smiled at the sight of Gabby sitting up in bed and rubbing her stomach. However, once I got a look at her face...I could tell the reason she was sitting up in bed was not because she was happy. The real reason she was sitting up in bed? She was worried about our girls. Going to walk over to our bed, I looked at Gabby and then smiled at her. "You ok?" Finally realizing that I was here, Gabby snapped out of whatever zone she was in and turned to look at me. "Uhm..."

I just sighed when she said that before going to sit down next to her. Facing her, I went to put my hand on her stomach and just smiled at her. "Want to talk about it?" Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I asked her that. "I'm just worried. Matt, I'm not sure if I can deal with another miscarriage." I agreed with her when she said that. Going to put my leg on the bed, I smiled at her before going to put my hand on her stomach. Leaning in, I went to kiss her before feeling Gabby's hand move to my neck. "Gabby, I promise that I'm here for you. I always will be."

Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that, moving her lips to mine again before kissing me softly. Taking it slow with her, I smiled as I went to put my hand on her arm. "How about you tell me what you want for breakfast okay? I can go downstairs and make you whatever you want." Gabby smiled when I told her that. "Right now, I just want you to stay here for a bit. These girls here need their dad." I nodded and smiled at her. "Gabby, I am always going to be here for my girls. Heck, I have taken time off to be here for you. Gabby, take a breath."

Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just went to take a breath for me. "Exhale now." She agreed with me while exhaling. "Another round please." Gabby agreed and just went to do another round of breathing for me. "Okay. Now listen, here's what I want you to do today okay?" Gabby nodded when I said that. "Today, I want you to sit down and rest all day. If you need to get up, call me and let me be here for you. Gabby, I don't remember you ever having Braxton hicks." Gabby agreed with me. "And they'd be early. They start around 23-27 weeks." 

I agreed with Gabby when she said that. "Well, you are two weeks early for that." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. Going to grab her neck, I just smiled at her. "Gabby, we're going to get down to the bottom of this okay? We're going to get answers from Dr. Asher and I'm positive that everything is going to be okay at the end of the day." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?" I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she said that. "I love you too. Now, I need to go help Antonio with the boys."

Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. "Can you make me breakfast first? I want to distract myself." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that because that makes sense. "That sounds like a good idea." Going to grab her hand, I just smiled at her. "And I promise that I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure that you and our girls are okay." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I know you are." Going to grab her iPad from the side table, I smiled and then went to go find the breathing app that I installed on here.

Going to open it, I smiled and then went to go give it to Gabby. "Here, I put this app on your iPad." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. "It's a breathing app that I found. It says that it's good for pregnant women. I don't know what's the different but still...if it says that it's going to help pregnant women, then I'm going to pay for it." Gabby laughed and smiled at me. "And there's the smile I love." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. Going to put my hand on her neck, I smiled as I leaned in and then went to kiss her softly. "I love you. And I'm here."

Gabby then took a breath. "What about when you're at work? Then I'll be alone. And I'm not sure if I'll be okay at the firehouse because I'm not going to have my bed there." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Well, that's something we can talk about. Gabby, we have 2 guest bedrooms in the basement....and if you want one of them to be filled by your mom, then she can move in." Gabby seemed shocked when I said that. "You'd let her move in?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that, getting close to her before putting my hand on her neck.

"Gabby, I've said this too many times to count...I will do anything and everything to make sure that you have an easy pregnancy. You are my wife, the love of my life...and the most amazing mother in the world. Gabby, I promise that you will get your mom to live here if you want her to." Gabby just smiled and agreed with me when I said that, going to kiss me softly. "Listen, I'm going to take a shower when we get back from the hospital. But for now, can you go make me breakfast?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Of course I can."

Gabby just smiled and agreed with I told her that. Going to put my hand on Gabby's stomach, I bent down and went to kiss it softly. "You guys need to calm down for mommy okay? She's really worried...and that makes daddy worried." Gabby smiled when I did that and just went to run her fingers through my hair. "God, you're amazing." I nodded and smiled when she said that. "Do you want to see the boys this morning? Or do you want to rest with me?" Gabby bit her lip. "I think it's best if I just rest. We have time though." I agreed with her. "We leave in 2 hours."

Gabby put her hand on my cheek when I told her that. "Then can you go make me breakfast? Once I've ate, I'm going to put on something for the hospital." I nodded and just agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Of course. Just promise me that you breathe okay? And when we're back from the hospital...maybe your brother can stay and keep taking care of the boys okay? Right now, I just want to concentrate on you for a bit." Gabby agreed with me and smiled. "I think that's a good idea. I heard you talk in your sleep last night Matt. You were worried."

I sighed and took a breath when Gabby told me that. "Gabby, of course I'm worried. There's no 'were' about it. I am worried as we speak. Gabby, you're my wife and I want to make sure that you're okay." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that and just smiled at me. "Well, looks like you are doing a great job at that." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Good, Because I don't want to let you down." Gabby shook her head when I said that. "Hey, don't you dare thing that you can ever let me down Matt. You're the best dad and husband in the entire world."

I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, going to kiss her again. "Listen, I need to go down and get you breakfast. Just relax and drink some of your water bottle." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "Sounds good." Going to get up, I went to put my hand on Gabby's cheek and then went to stroke her cheek with my thumb. "Yes, yes it does. Now, do some breathing for me. Meanwhile, I'm going to get us some breakfast in bed." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "Thanks Matt." I smiled and agreed with Gabby.

"It's my pleasure. You're my girl and I love taking care of you." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that, watching me walk away to go get her breakfast.

Gabby's Thoughts:
As I watched Matt walk away to head downstairs and make me breakfast, I couldn't help but think about how lucky I was to have him as my husband. Putting my hand on my stomach, I smiled because he was truly the man of my dreams. The way he takes care of my and the boys is something that I am forever going to be grateful for. And honestly, I just feel lucky simply because I am the one who gets to kiss those soft lips of his on a daily basis. My husband is so great and I am so lucky to be the Mrs. Casey. But seriously, my man has a body. His muscles...

Gabby, calm down. You are awake now and it's not time for you to have a wet dream of your husband like you did last night. You can do that later while you're resting in bed. Right now, you need to do some breathing and just relax so that you aren't worrying Matt all the time. Heck, I am sure that he's so worried about how me and the girls are. I just wish that I could do something that you make him feel better. (Gabby then went to put her hand on her stomach) You listen to me girls, you really need to calm down in there and relax for me and your dad.

We had a bunch of troubles in our pregnancy with your older brothers and that is not what we need with you girls. We love you and we want to meet you. So can you please promise me that we're going to be able to do that someday. By the way, I hope you guys love your names....I know that me and your daddy do. Hannah Grace and Sofia Maria Casey. Such beautiful names...and I can't wait to meet you girls. Just promise me that you guys stay in there much longer. Now, back to my breathing while I wait for your daddy to bring me breakfast.
