The Rainbow

Tap tap tap on the window it goes.
Who it is though,
Everybody knows.
It is just the tears of those above,
From feelings of sorrow or feelings of love.

The sound can put people to sleep,
Soft and soothingly it weeps.
Some take it as a sign of a storm,
So into their blankets to keep themselves warm.
But when the storm passes away,
A rainbow will be here to stay.

But the needle sharpness of the rain,
Can pierce through your clothing
And cause you some pain.
As it strikes through your soul,
Filling it up with a shivering cold.

But no matter how cold,
No matter how bold,
The rain is still soothing,
Even if it makes you feel like you're losing.
And remember that after a rain,
A rainbow will stain
The blue sky up and high,
With a flourish and a sigh.
