History: The name "lesbian" comes from the Greek terms "lesbos" and "sapphos", both connecting with female homosexuality. Lesbian themes have been common since the time of Ancient Greece and it eventually branches out into different names. Lesbian couples have been shown in the pop culture media, mainly in animation with the very first depiction of a lesbian wedding, with the famous Ruby and Sapphire from Rebecca Sugar's Steven Universe, and Disney's first main lesbian couple, Luz Noceda and Amity Blight from Dana Terrance's The Owl House. However, most fictional platonic female duos in the media have also been hinted to have a romantic vibe, such as Vi and Caitlyn in Arcane or Daphne and Velma in Scooby-Doo (although Velma is lesbian and Daphne isn't).
