Y/N's POV
"I'm hungry!", I groaned when I felt my tummy started growling while sleeping
"Why? I was already with Mina and we were about to go on a date in my dreams but you ruined it!!", as I slap my stomach and stood up from laying on the bed
I checked myself in front of the mirror and notice my hair wasn't even messed up which happens everyday when I wake up.
"I guess there's no need to comb it", I smiled and fixed my nightwear
"Oh, I almost forgot that we're suspended hence there's no need to take a bath and wear my school uniform", I shrugged my shoulders and locked the door of my room
I saw familiar figures from the entrance of our main school building while heading to the cafeteria but decided not to mind the others anymore.
"I shouldn't", I shook my head and walk on the opposite direction to avoid any circumstances
"Skrrt! Skrrt! It's none other than me, Bambam!"
I heard a voice coming from my head but still continued to walk away like I wasn't even bothered at all.
"Please, listen carefully! I'm going to used my last chance to tell everybody that a group of strangers entered our school and created a barrier which prevents the people from the outside to enter here. Don't even try to fight back if you're not well prepared of what's going to happened next because I've got informations that they were powerful af! I already called for help but it will take some time for them to rescue all of us so please bare with them if you're too unlucky to meet one of them and.. don't die! Bye!!"
"Minari", I frowned and immediately sped off towards her direction in a split of seconds to block the guy who was about to hit her with his lightning bolt
"Are you okay??", I asked worriedly while blocking the attack
I turned around and kneeled down to her level when I'm done absorbing the lightning bolt. I immediately noticed the wounds and bruises all over her body which made me very very mad.
I raised her chin up using my right hand and smiled at her like nothing happened a few minutes ago.
"Minari, I'll protect you", I assured and her eyes suddenly become teary which made me pinch her left cheek
"A--"
"Penguins don't cry", I whispered and carried her in a bridal style
"You must be Y/N", the guy who attacked Mina suddenly speak behind my back and I could feel his presence as he started to come near us which I immediately responded on summoning lightning from the sky
"Chill, I just wanted to talk up close with you", I heard him smirked and distanced himself away from us
I was about to leave with Mina but the guy stop me for a moment when he said something that I didn't like.
"Where are you going? You may leave.. without her.. because she's our goal why we're here to begin with. You don't have to waste your time to save her because I know that you'll fail protecting her"
I turned around to face him and death glared at him. He's wearing a mask. I couldn't hear anything except with what he said which keeps echoing through my ear.
"You'll fail protecting her"
"You're just a kid. What could possibly a kid do to protect someone like her?"
"Someone who couldn't even control her own power"
"Y/N"
"What are you doing??!"
"Listen to me!"
I suddenly came back to my senses and looked at Minari who's already cupping my face.
"Are you okay??! Why are you walking towards him like you're going to surrender me?!!", as she started to cry and realized what she just said
What am I doing?
I sighed calmly and focus what's in front of me which was her because our faces were just inches apart right now.
"Hey, I'll bring her in a safe place. Don't worry, you may have her if you'll win against me", I sped on to the stairs before the main school building entrance and put her down carefully
"Did you really mean those words that you've said just now?", she asked in disappointment
"What are you talking about?", I asked
"That you'll give me if---"
"Shut up, as if I'll let him take you away from me", I cut her off and realized what I've just said
"While I'm here none of you will be taken away, not on my watch. Hehe~", I defended
"But---"
"You should get some rest, on the other hand, I'm going back to the guy and get a revenge that he deserves from hurting you"
I left without hearing her out anymore and remembered Tzuyu was sitting there on the ground before blocking the guy's attack against Minari earlier.
She was surrounded by her lightning but more like struggling to control her own power while trying to do her best not to hurt Sana who's unconscious.
She looked at me in a pleasing way to help her and I shrugged my shoulders telling that I couldn't help because I've got a death match that was about to begin.
"If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time trying to be a hero by protecting her", the guy shook his head in disbelief
I death glared at him because I suddenly remember everything that has happened in my past.
It was painful.
It was full of regrets.
"I'll protect you", my mind says
"I'll always be here for you", my heart says
"I'm sorry but I can't", my body answered and failed to do so
I shouldn't have made a vow of protecting her from the beginning when all of my promises were always made to be broken.
I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists but he keep bombarding words that I hated to hear the most when I'm trying to escape from hearing them out.
I should end him to stop.
