Twelve

No one's p.o.v

Another day passed by with the kids waiting to be rescued by someone. Areum layed in Na-yeon's arms with her eyes closed while Na-yeon carassed her hair softly

"Are you doing alright love?" Areum nodded, hugging Na-yeon's waist tightly "I feel safe in your arms" A smile creeped on Na-yeon's lips

She stopped before talking as she heard a noice of a helicopter coming their way. As the helicopter reached closer, Dae-su picked up a wood with fire and started waving it, trying to get their attention in which he succeeded

The helicopter was in front of them, and a few soldiers came down using the ropes and pointed the guns at them.

Areum grabbed Na-yeon's hand and pulled her behind herself, protecting her as she put her hands up.

"Get down! All of you, get down" The soldier said as they obeyed, getting down on the floor as the soldiers started checking their temperature

As the soldiers were checking the temperatures one by one, Areum looked at Na-yeon who was nervous as hell, and held onto her hand tightly

The soldiers checked Nam-ra and she was damn cold so the gave her a blanket and checked Areum, who was fine, but as they checked Na-yeon, it was almost same as Nam-ra and they provided her with a blanket as well

"We are here for an operation, we will complete that first than we will rescue you" The soldier said before that left to do their work

The kids were reliefed and very happy. Areum smiled and side hugged Na-yeon "We're finally gonna be safe now" She earned a nod from Na-yeon and a poke on her cheek

The soldiers completed their operation completely and we decided to send Ji-min first. The soldiers started to pull her up but then one of them yelled

"Operation cancelled! We'll just take the package and leave" They sent Ji-min back down and remove the harness they were putting on Hyo-ryeong

They pointed the gun at the kids when they tried to speak for themselves. The soldiers got on the ropes and got pulled up and flew away, leaving the kids dumbfounded

Areum watched the helicopter with her hands in the pockets of her jacket "They just abandoned us huh?" She scoffed and kicked the things that spelled SOS

"No one is coming to save us! We're stuck here!!" Cheong-san screamed. They all lost hope in getting rescued after this incident

Na-yeon hugged Areum who was damn annoyed with the soldiers "They call themselves soldiers? And then they do their work and leave literal kids to die? Fuck them being soldiers" Areum said in a very cold tone, looking up in the direction where the helicopter went "Calm down please.." Na-yeon softly whispered as she tightened the hug, and Areum hugged her back, resting her head on Na-yeon's shoulder

Just then, a drop of water touched Dae-su's face as he looked up "It's raining" a few of them looked up, and drops of water fell on their faces. In seconds, the rain started dripping fast, and as a thunder was heard, Na-yeon shivered as she slightly screamed in Areum's shoulder

"Na-yeon? What happened?" Na-yeon covered her ears while closing her eyes tightly "My ears hurt so bad!" Areum looked at Nam-ra, and she was facing the same thing as Na-yeon

Areum looked around and she found a huge blanket, she let go of Na-yeon and went to the blanket, and ripped a little part of it, and rolled it into two pieces and went to Na-yeon, gently removing her hands and putting the two pieces in her ear

She carassed her face gently "this will help" Na-yeon slightly smiled and hugged her, putting her head on areum's chest "I'm lucky to have you"

She smiled, and kissed Na-yeon's head. The guys used the blanket and tied it, and everyone got under it

Cheong-san seemed to be thinking for a while as he saw Na-yeon and Nam-ra suffering from the sound of thunders

"Let's go. I see the zombies seems to be weak with the sound of thunders. We can move during the thunders, we can go down and reach to the basketball club"

"That actually sounds like a good plan, The basketball club is on the mountain and I believe there won't be much zombies there" Areum said, agreeing with Cheong-san

"What if we get separated?" Hyo-ryeong asked "We can hold hands in pairs so we won't separate" Cheong-san said, and everyone agreed with

On-jo and Cheong-san, Wu-jin and Joon-Young, Ji-min and Hyo-ryeong, Nam-ra and Su-hyeok and Na-yeon and Areum. These were the pairs and Dae-su was left alone in the end

Na-yeon looked at Areum with worried expressions "I-I feel very weak.." Areum squeezed her hand softly and gave her a reassuring smile

"I'm here for you, I'll protect you"
