"I'm— I'm sorry, Mr. Malfoy, it won't happen again," Charlene apologized over and over, feeling her chest tighten as she continued to pick up the glass.

Haven Riles, Draco Malfoys girlfriend, had purposely thrown a glass off the table, just for Charlene to pick it up. Haven hated Charlene. She hated her with everything she had, because Malfoy was hers, and not Charlene's. She wanted to rub it in Charlene's face, that she would always be a maid and just a maid.

Theodore Nott and Blaise zabini stood at the end of the table of the dining room, watching Charlene pick up the prices of glass with her slightly shaking hands. Draco was rude, he was harsh. This was going to take at least 15 percent out of her paycheck. He didn't like when Charlene screwed up.

Theodore set his cup down, rubbing his face. "Thats not fair, she didn't drop it. Haven did."

Still, Draco said nothing and watched Charlene let out a small sigh when she cut her finger.

"No, I— I did," Charlene's voice didn't echo through the room, it was very small, but Draco definitely heard her. "I dropped it. I'm sorry, Sir."

Fury burned through Charlene's chest when Haven started laughing. She'd always tried to tell Haven she wanted nothing to do with Draco, but Haven just wouldn't by it.

Either way, Charlene didn't stop herself from sneaking a look at him time to time.

He was attractive, very attractive. He payed her very good, and she was lucky to even have this job, but he chose her as soon as she walked through the door. Draco just stared at her when she walked in, made her sign her name, and ever since then, she'd had the job.

By the time she'd finished sweeping and cleaning it up, she started walking back to the kitchen to prepare for dinner. She'd fought the urge to cry her eyes out, but remembered she could do that when she got to bed.

Between her legs ached. Having a miscarriage hurt her more than anything she'd ever got through besides seeing her father sick.

She'd gone to the doctors before she came to work, they removed what they needed too, and she'd cried the entire time. Her boyfriend, Max Tolen, hadn't ever tried to comfort her. His parents wanted kids. He didn't care that she lost it, he was angry that she did.

She tries to think he's just mourning the loss of a child. She doesn't want to think he actually doesn't care.

"Why are you walking like that?"
