General POV
After that one music presentation, Ricky and Nini had started to talk more.
It's not like they were close or anything...
They just weren't enemies.

The two would occasionally text, FaceTime and talk in their music class.
Music class was the only class that they had together.
Their music class didn't have any of Ricky's friends, so that was good for Ricky.

The only downside was that, Ricky was.. you know, popular.
Other people in the class would witness Ricky talking and having fun with Nini.
He just hoped that no one would tell his friends about that.

People soon found out that Ricky and Nini weren't actually dating.
That relieved a ton of girls.

Ricky was counting down the days until his mom would come.
Exactly One week. Seven days. 168 hours. 10080 minutes. 604800 seconds.
Being around Nini made him sorta forget, all the drama with his mom.
Maybe that's why he started talking to her again.

Nini's POV
"Bye moms!" I yelled to my moms as I walked out of the front door.

Today's Friday! Who doesn't love Fridays?
Tomorrow I get to sleep in. I can't wait!

Today I was taking the bus, because my moms have to be at work in a few minutes.

As I walked on the bus I noticed that most of the seats were taken in the front.
That meant I had to walk near the back.

Finally the first open seat I saw was one row in front of the very back, which was where Ricky and his friends were.

I smiled and waved at Ricky, before sitting down in the seat in front of him.

He half smiled and moved his head up a little.
It was odd, but at least he acknowledged my presence this time.

When we got to school, we all went to our first class.

When I got to my second block ( history ), I found a note waiting for me at my desk.

I smiled to myself, sat down with the note and put it in my pocket

General POV
Little did she know, that Gina watched her read the note.
Gina watched Nini smile, and she responded with a satisfied grin.

The day went on and Nini couldn't wait for her and Ricky's outing, later that day.
However Ricky didn't even know.

Ricky's POV
It was finally lunch and I was sitting at a table with my friends.

"Hey Ricky wanna go to the cafe later?" Gina asked.

"Sure.. I guess," I responded.

Gina and EJ smiled to each other.
I Wonder what that's about.

"We'll see you at four thirty," EJ said a moment later.

"Okay.."

Big Red looked back in forth between me, then Gina and EJ.

"What's up?" I asked him, confused.

He waited a minute before replying.
He looked at Gina and EJ one more time, and then responded.

"Nothing," he said.

General POV
It was almost five o'clock, and Nini was walking towards the coffee shop.
She even decided to change into an outfit that looked a little nicer. -not that it was a date or anything.

She just felt the need to where something nicer while going out

She just felt the need to where something nicer while going out.

Once she got to the cafe, she quietly opened the doors.
The place wasn't very crowded, so she immediately saw Ricky.
But he was with his friends too.

Nini's POV
There Ricky was, sitting with his friends.
I guess when I read the letter I thought he meant just us two.. not that it mattered though!

I just felt kinda silly getting dressed up nicer.

I slowly walked towards their table, feeling nervous.
My stomach felt like it was doing dozens of flips.

Soon I was close enough that they saw me. They all stared at me. My stomach hurt.
"hey guys," I said with a tiny smile.

Ricky was the first to speak.
"Nini.. what are you.. uh doing here?" He asked.

I suddenly felt uneasy, but I shrugged it off and gave a small laugh.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.

There was a moment of silence.

"You invited me.. remember? You sent a letter," I told him, almost whispering.

"What lett-," Ricky cut off and looked at his friends.

I suddenly knew everything that had happened.
His friends sent the letter. He didn't actually want me and him to hang out. I got so ready and excited for nothing.

I felt so embarrassed and flustered.
My cheeks felt warm and I knew they were bright red.
I just needed to get out of here.

"Oh um.. sorry. I'll just.. uh go," I stuttered and started to walk away from their table.

Before I got to the door I heard someone yell my name.
"Nina! You can still hang with us," Gina yelled.

I honestly just wanted to leave as fast as I could, but it would be rude to decline her offer.

"Uh okay," I said quietly and took the only open seat next to Ricky.

Everyone was quiet. Oh my god this is so awkward.

I just wanna run out of here.

AN: (Little did she know, she was about to)

"Well I've heard that you and Ricky are friends now," Gina said with a smirk that i didn't like.

"Yeah," me and Ricky said at the same time.

"Well I have something to show you Nina," Gina said while grabbing her phone.

"It's Nini," Ricky said with a smirk at me.

I giggled, " you can call me whatever."

Gina turned her phone towards me, and everyone gathered around the phone to watch.

It was a video that seemed like it was filmed under a table.
I then heard Ricky's voice.

"She's not my girlfriend. Ugh. She's a total weirdo. I don't even know why she talked to me earlier.. it was just embarrassing," Ricky said.

I felt dizzy, and all my feelings from before came back to me.
I felt sick.

I thought Ricky and I were friends! I thought he actually enjoyed my company, like I enjoyed his.
But no..he's embarrassed by me.

"Uh...uhhh," I started to talk but then never finished because I ran out the door.

Ricky's POV
This could not be happening.

AN: thanks for reading! :)
