Nini's POV
I laid in my bed, peacefully.
Everything was quiet and calm as I tried to fall back asleep.
Next thing I knew, someone barged into my room.

I groaned, not even knowing who that person was.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

ImmediatelyI rubbed my eyes and opened them.
There stood Ricky in his maroon hoodie and jeans.
He was holding a something but I couldn't tell what.

"Ricky?" I asked, " what are you doing here so early?"

Ricky laughed out loud," Early?"

"What do you mean? Did I oversleep again?"

"Well that's an understatement! It's already noon."

I groaned again. Today was starting off bad.

"I'm sorry. Did we have plans today?" I asked him, with a yawn.

"We didn't. We do now though! Hurry and get ready," Ricky told me.

When Ricky left the room, I got dressed.
Today I could just wear something simple.
Especially since i'm exhausted.

I then brushed my teeth and brushed my hair, pulling it into a messy bun.

I hope we aren't going anywhere fancy today.

When I was done getting ready, I walked downstairs.

Ricky sat at the kitchen table, and was talking to one of my moms.
They didn't have work today because of my birthday.

"Happy Birthday Nina- er sorry Nini!" Momma D told me, " I didn't want to wake you up."

Her and momma C keep forgetting that I go by that nickname again.
I can't blame them either.

"Thank you," I said quietly with a smile.

"Do you want some breakfast or maybe lunch?" Momma D asked, teasing me .

I laughed," Nah. I'm okay."

After a few minutes of talking, Ricky said it was time to go.

"I'll see you later!" I told my moms.

"Have fun!"

"Where are we?" I asked.

Ricky had tied a blindfold around my eyes, so I couldn't see where we were.
It also prevented me from seeing where to walk.

"You'll see! I'm just going to finish up one more thing," Ricky told me as he sat me down on something.

A few minutes later he stood me up.

"Okay. Take it off in 3..2..1.."

When I took off the blindfold, I was amazed.
A beach picnic.
Ricky knows exactly what I like.

AN: ( just imagine it was only for two people)

"Oh my gosh! Thank you!" I said as I hugged him tightly.

Ricky replied by grinning.

"What food is there?" I asked him, feeling suddenly hungry.

"Let's see.. I brought sandwiches, chips, strawberries, raspberries, cookies and ice cream,"Ricky listed off everything.

I licked my lips.

"Let's eat!"

"Why do you like raspberries so much?" I asked him with a laugh.

"I don't know!" He told me," Why do you like strawberries so much?"

"that's a fair point."

My head rested on his chest after we finished eating.

The ocean waves made it so peaceful.

I could fall asle-

"Nini!"

I quickly sat up.
"i'm awake!"

Ricky looked at me with a small smile.
"You can go to sleep if your tired."

"I'm okay. I have all night to sleep," I said with a smile.

After a few more minutes of laying down, Ricky realized something.

"Oh shoot," He said quietly.

"what?"

"I left the ice cream in the car. It probably melted."

"Oh," I replied," That's okay."

"I'm sorry Neens. You know what? I'll be right back," Ricky told me, as he darted off to the car.

He came back a few moments later with the two ice cream containers.
Both chocolate fudge.

"We can still eat it if you want," He said," we could dip the cookies in it."

I smiled at him.

"That's a great idea."

I took the first bite.
I closed my eyes, and squealed.

"This is amazing. You need to try it right now," I told him.

Ricky grabbed a chocolate chunk cookies and dipped it in the ice cream mush. Then he took a bite, and had the same reaction as me.

General POV
Later that afternoon, Ricky and Nini pulled up to Nini's house.

"Want to go to your backyard real quick?" Ricky asked her, to which she agreed.

The two sat on the swing sets.

"So.. I got you something. It's not much but I hope you like it," Ricky told her shyly.

"Aw i'm sure I'll love it," Nini responded.

Ricky handed her a tiny blue gift bag.

She opened it up eager, to find a small box. The kind you would propose with.

Thinking it was that, Nini panicked a little.

"Don't worry! I'm not proposing," Ricky told her with a laugh.
not yet at least

"okay."

She opened the box and found a ring.
Except this wasn't an engagement ring.
It was a promise ring.

On it was a butterfly outlined.

"Oh wow! This is beautiful," Nini told him.

Ricky grinned," It's a promise ring."

Nini put it on her finger and then kissed Ricky.

"Thank you for today," She told him.

"Anytime Neens."
