"Anything yet?"

"Not yet, Captain," the commander informed. Steve couldn't really remember his name he thought it might be Dean. Commander Dean?

"Alright, Commander, let me know if you find anything."

"Yes, Sir," he saluted and turned away.

Steve decided to take a walk. He wandered aimlessly through the snow lost in thought. He remembered this place. It was near a Hydra base that he and his team had taken out during the war. An Allied memorial had been built above the rubble to symbolize their victory. Unfortunately he hadn't been there to see it. He should've been there celebrating the end of the war. Also Remembering all those who died. You never forget war. You never forget the sounds or memories, the horrors of it. Some people say there is no point and they may be right in some cases. However there are times where there is no choice but to protect your country and the ones you love. Many become angry but men died very day during that long war. It wasn't because they wanted to kill or fight; it was because someone else wanted to fight and wanted to kill the ones they loved. And when a person or country wants to fight or vows to wipe out a country. It can't be ignored. It must be fought against. One of Steve's favorite quotes about war was what G. K. Chesterton said, "The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him."
That was the only reason Steve tried to join the army so many times and he recognized that's why Caty wanted to join Shield. She wanted to protect and serve just in a different manner. He was proud of her but he would prefer to be proud of her and have her here with him.

"Ah, Janie, I wish you were here," he said aloud to himself. "She needed a mom."

Steve had met Janie while on a mission. He never thought he could love anyone except Peggy, but Janie proved him wrong. She had been so excited to be a mom. She never got to see her grow up.

"I promise I'll find her, Janie," he turned and headed back to base.

Wow! Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there! He is so sad!
:( will he find her? Or the better question is will he find her the way he left her? Mwhahahahahahaha! We will find out soon enough! Hope your enjoying it! :) -LMI
