A/N: Fe Villanueva del Mundo, a pediatrician, founded the first pediatric hospital in the Philippines. She was also the founder and the first president of the Philippine Pediatric Society and the first woman to be named National Scientist of the Philippines. She was further noted for her pioneering work on infectious diseases and was active in the field of public health, with special concerns towards rural communities.
