Meetings after meetings and I'm glad. It's keeping my mind off her.
It's keeping my excitement down because she arrives tomorrow evening. It's been exactly one month, three weeks and six days of torture without Lorelai.
I click my pen again and try to listen in on his presentation.
"When we look at our stockbrokers..." He's voice fades out to a distant chatter and I'm just staring at numbers.
Charts. Graphs. Buildings. Numbers.
All of which just look like nonsense and I don't understand. The clock ticks so loudly and I glance at it. Only about ten minutes till I can leave this meeting and then another hour until I can leave this building. Another six hours till I can sleep and another fifteen hours till I can see her.
So that adds up to twenty two hours and ten minutes till I can see her beautiful face once again.
The news yesterday was talking about her android release. Raeni made a statement yesterday saying that the android was half complete and all that needed to he done is make it human like. I've never felt so much pride from one person. I've never felt so much happiness for her.
"... so, after gathering our environmental concerns and implementing them to properly sustain our buildings and be well aware for our customers rights, I think we should make that arrow skyrocket by the end of November." He sits back down and I nod my head as if I was listening to everything he said. I have no idea what he said.
I wasn't listening. "Thank you, send your PowerPoint to Luigi and we'll have a closer look at it. Just remember that the position for the job isn't for if you can talk big numbers, it's if you can show me that you're worthy and responsible."
They all process my words and nod to each other.
"You are dismissed." They all take their files and water bottle and leave the room.
Silence.
The clock is tucking and suddenly my phone rings. I pick it up without checking who called me.
"Ares, how have you been?" It's Raeni. It's the first time she's called me in two weeks.
Last time she called because I asked her what happened to Lorelai's phone. She said that she lost her phone and hasn't had the time to buy a new one. I ask her if I could speak with her but she wasn't with her at the time.
