17. The Aftermath

It was the next morning as Aaliyah had gotten up. She looks at the clock to see 9:45 and realized that Javi never came upstairs to bed

She took a shower and headed downstairs to see Elian and Joaquin passed out on the sofa with four empty tequila and numerous beer bottles on the coffee table and some on the floor

"How much did y'all drink?" She asked herself as she carefully looked around and even wondered where Javier was

However right now her main concern was getting herself something to eat, she will look for Javi later but as for right now she's hungry.

She went into the kitchen and fixed herself some food, also thinking that maybe the smell would wake them up but it didn't as they were still asleep

Although she did make enough for them so if they did get up and want food it would be there for them.

As she was fixing herself a plate, she noticed out of the kitchen window Carolina sadly standing outside, contemplating on knocking on the door.

Aaliyah went over and unlocked it and once she opened the door, Carolina was thoroughly surprised. "Good morning." Aaliyah said

"Good morning, I Uh, I hate to bother you, but may I please come in?"

"Of course come in." Aaliyah said and the wonderful smell of food made Carolina's stomach grumble as she tried to ignore it
"You hungry?"

"No, I'm fine."

"You sure? I made plenty, I don't mind it at all." Aaliyah said as Carolina just couldn't ignore her stomach growling any longer as she went over and fixed herself a plate

"Thank you."

"It's no problem."

She sat down at the table and began scarfing the food down as if she hasn't had a meal in forever. "I'm not gonna take it from you, if we run out I can make more."

"I don't want Javier to know that I've been inside, please don't tell him."

"I won't," She said as it was a bit of silence as Carolina continued to devour her food
"Would you like something to drink?"

"Yes please."

Aaliyah got up and got two bottles of water from the fridge and gave one to Carolina. She drunk half of it within seconds and showed no further signs of slowing down

"Will you be staying for dinner?"

"I doubt it, Javi doesn't want me here."

"I'm sure he didn't mean that, he's been a little stressed lately." Aaliyah said as Javi lightly staggers into the kitchen with bloodshot red eyes and a permanent scowl on his face as Carolina wanted to disappear

"Good morning babe."

"Morning." He mumbled as he looks up and sees Carolina at the table. "What's she doing here? I thought I told you I didn't want you in my house, nor do I want you around my wife."

"I invited her in, she was hungry."

"You should've let her starve."

"Javi, don't say that."

"You don't understand babe, she abandoned her kids and just because she wants some sympathy I'm supposed to forgive her of everything she's done? I don't think so, if she wants forgiveness she needs to earn it but as of now I don't respect, trust and most of all forgive her."

"I'll be more than happy to earn your trust and forgiveness, whatever it takes."

"Good, you can start by getting out of my house and don't ever show up unannounced or uninvited. I don't want to see your face around my house, if I want to reach you I'll find you, now leave." He said as she sadly got up from the table and left the house

"You didn't have to be that mean to her, I truly believe she wants a relationship with you." Aaliyah said as Javi sat down and held his head

"Fuck her, fine time to build a relationship when you spent all your life running the streets and you have nothing or no one to care for or about you."

"I get your frustrations I do, but try to be a little understanding and compassionate." She said as he cracked a smile

"If that's what you want me to work on honey, I'll do my best."

"Thank you, so I see you boys really had a good time last night."

"Yeah, the night started off slow with a few beers, then we started downing the tequila, some shots of vodka and it went downhill from there. I haven't been this hungover in awhile."

"Y'all went at it all night, but did you at least have fun?"

"I did it was nice for a change." He said as she leaned over and kissed his forehead

"That's good, I think you should go lay down and I'll bring you something to help with that headache of yours."

"I'd rather you come lay with me instead."

"What about your brothers?"

"They'll be alright, if they need something they know how to call or get it themselves." He said getting up and pulled Aaliyah up by the hand

They went upstairs to the room as the two got in bed and Javi wraps his arms around Aaliyah and rubs her belly. "Our baby's in there, you are truly a blessing." He said as he kissed Aaliyah's cheek

"Will you still love me when I blow up like a beach whale?" She asked while giggling as he snuggled up closer

"Of course baby, you'll always be beautiful to me, I'm actually excited to see you get a little bigger, your breasts will get bigger, your ass will get nice and plump and your stomach will be round with the rest of our kids we'll have, I'm gonna keep you barefoot and pregnant."

"Woah, how many kids do you plan on having?"

"Four to six is good for me, but ultimately you have the final say,"

"I know you'll be a great father to however many we do have."

"Growing up I never had a father to look up to and teach me how to be a man, or anything, I'm sure if he was in my life I would've been a completely different person, but I vowed that I would be the best father ever and I would teach my kids and be in their lives unlike my own father."

Should Javi forgive Carolina already? Will she return?

Does she have some ulterior motive? Or does she want genuine forgiveness?
