I wipe the sweat off my eyebrows and put my helmet on. It was now or never. We could win it or lose it. I look over to him. He has the biggest smile on his face. I could stare at those pretty blue eyes all day. He makes me feel some sort of safe. Bombay gives me a nod telling me to skate to the middle of the rink. I look at the goalie for the Iceland team. You can do this Noelle. I hear him from last night in my head. All my teammates cheer me on, but I ignore them. I lift my feet off the ice and start to skate. As I hear the cheers and shouts from everyone in the stadium I skate faster and faster. Just focus on the goal.  I'm about to shoot. I lift my hockey stick. I'm there with you. My hockey stick hits the puck. The goalie's body language tells me that they're confident. It doesn't matter if the puck goes in or not. I just care about him. Time is almost out as the puck goes into the goal. Holy shit. I actually did it. The crowd cheers. We are the Champions.

But our story doesn't start here. Let me take you back a few weeks...
