Stanley went out one day to seek a great adventure.
Instead of wild stories to tell, enslaved he was indentured.
He tried to explain to the bandits that came.
That he was not worth much gold the same.
They laughed and bellowed as he weaved and wove words.
Believing in logic to sway the man's heart and ultimately his swords.
Instead of a pleasant debate, they threatened his life.
He would have cried and begged to see his wife.
Too bad no dame gave him half a glance nor their time of day.
Still, he was proud that he at least could travel far away.
Instead, he was a slave for now, until freedom deigns to greet him.
He was not a violent man, yet he may need to embrace the ways of old Tim.
For clarification Tim was an old soldier, in wars did he fought.
The man had taught him much, now he was distraught.
Should he try to kill his captors and drench himself in blood.
Or should he wait for a moment to convince them, avoiding a body's thud.
