Nova was sitting there reading one of the stories on her laptop on the Wattpad app website waiting for Sam to come back from his little jog. Dean was still asleep but when she glanced over at him she noticed him moving his head a little like he was having a nightmare. She went over to him and rubbed his arm.
"Dean, sweetie, wake up."
All of a sudden she had to jump backwards quickly because he jolted up.
"Woah, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. " He grumbled and grabbed the beer bottle and discovered it was empty. "Where's Sam?"
"He decided to go for a jog." She shrugged, "I don't know why all of a sudden he wants to."
After a little while Dean decided to do a little research. As he was reading a article is when Sam came back.
"Somebody better be chasing you." Dean told him and took a drink.
"It's good for you. " Sam breathed heavily.
"No, no, it's not good for you. Look at you, you're a mess-"
"And you stink." Nova giggled waving her hand in front of her nose, "But Dean also there's nothing wrong with someone wanting to take care of their body. "
Dean shrugged at her, "Well while you were out being Lance Armstrong."
"That would be biking. " Sam and Nova stated together.
"I was working, you two ever heard of a town called prosperity indiana?"
"Has anybody?" Sam took a drink of his Gatorade.
Dean went on to say how two of their citizens died over the past couple weeks, one of them in a hair dryer at a salon and the other one in a hot tub. The guys talk a few minutes than Sam went and took a shower.
"Dean why do you drink so much?"
"Because I like it. "
"You're killing your liver."
He shrugged one shoulder but doesn't answer as he has a small smile and finished what was in his cup.
"Well can't say, you'll only live once with you boys. " She couldn't help but laugh.
"I mean." He shrugged his shoulders with a grin, "You're not wrong."
Later that day they did they FBI act. But this time Nova actually went out with them since they had a badge for her made for the just in case situation. Dean went to the salon to ask questions and looked around while Sam and Nova went and talked to the sister. Dean had discovered a coin hidden behind something but they weren't sure what it was but thought maybe it could be a talisman.
"So why don't you pick us up."
"Why don't you just run home Lance. "
"Dean-"
"Excuse me but I am not running in these flats and skirt." Nova cut him off since Dean was on speaker phone.
"Oh Yeah, forgot Nova was with you this time. Sorry Nova. I'll be there in a bit." With that he hung up.
As Dean was picking them up they found out another death happened so they check out the site. Found out everyone that's died so far was all working together on a project. That's when Sam discovered there was only one guy left involved who hasn't been killed, Don stark, so they went to talk to him.
As they were talking they noticed how friendly he was with his assistant. After she walked out Sam excused himself for the bathroom but instead of going there he looked around in other parts of the house.
When Sam came back he mentioned how they heard Don and his wife was splitting up. Don mentioned how it was only temporary and how sometimes people grow apart.
"So how would you describe the uh issues between you and your wife. " Sam asked him.
"Just one of those marital misunderstandings, you know. "
Nova nodded, "Me and Sam know how that is, we've been in that situation kinda but we're not married like you and Maggie are though."
"So you two are partners in the career and personal life. " Don nodded to understand.
"You can say that. " She smiles.
"Well, between me and Maggie, it's one of those vague hard to define passages."
"She caught you cheating huh?" Dean smirked lightly.
When Don gave him a confused look Nova spoke up, "It's just a couldn't help but notice how the interaction between you and your assistant were kinda cordial."
Don chuckled lightly.
"Pretty good with the ladies there Mr Stark? It's a blessing and a curse isn't it?" Dean gave him a small smile.
Nova patted Dean on the shoulder as she joked, "Kinda like you, you're pretty good with the ladies. "
"Not the time and place Nova. " Dean smirked with a shake of his head.
"Guys, I'm a people person, and I admire dynamic confident women. Okay look it's true I had a recent little thing with a business associate but that's all that it was."
"A thing?"
"Yeah."
They guessed that maybe thing was Wendy Goodman, but Don assured them it was long over before her accident. The guys didn't think it was an accident and that maybe his wife had something to do with it. So Nova suggested that he takes Maggie out for a nice date and apologize to her.
As they were leaving Sam let them know what he found when he had walked away. Later after they went to Maggie's place Dean discovered it was her hexing people and that Jenny, Don's assistant was next so they rushed over to her house. When they got there Jenny was choking over the sink so Dean tried helping her while Sam and Nova searched for the coin.
Sam found it on top of the cabinets so he set it down and destroyed it by shooting it. Jenny was freaking out about what was happening so they filled her in that she was hexed that she needed to pack a bag and leave town. And that she needed to cool it with Don Stark. She quickly let them know he was her boss and definitely wasn't interested in him by saying ewe. Once they were done, Nova, Sam and Dean left her place.
