The Gap Sage had told Keiki of a way to leave Gensokyo, yet stay living. As Keiki was a human-created god, she needed faith to live. And yet, the Gap Sage had let her explore the outside world free of charge. She was thankful. She couldn't wait to see what her dear humans had made. The Gap Sage had told her that she would be sent to a place called "Ohio", and that there was a large, bright building there that many humans visited. Unfortunately, she was told to go at night, so as to not alert anybody. She agreed. She didn't want to scare anybody— unless they were a beast spirit, of course.
Keiki walked slowly, looking around in wonder. Truthfully, it wasn't entirely that different to the Primate Spirit Garden before she had made it her lair. Even still, she could tell that many of the things here were human-made. A light caught her eye— a very, very bright light. A large building that she was sure was the one the Gap Sage had wanted her to go to. It was night, as well. Smiling, Keiki sped up her pace and continued on towards the building. She easily opened the doors, though she guesses humans would have found them slightly heavy. She wanted to see how one looked in the outside world, even if they were just leaving. She entered the building and—
Those were not humans.
Those were not Haniwa.
Those were not Yokai.
Those were not even the despicable beast spirits she so hated.
Keiki was, well, in the nicest way possible, extremely disappointed. Even so, she pressed on, avoiding those... things all the while. Eventually she came across a statue.
A large bear.
Keiki let out a bated breath. It was very obviously not a beast spirit, she knew that well, she wasn't stupid. Infact, she was extremely smart. And it's not that she hated animals, either. It's just that... Well, she didn't like the outside world that much. Even still, she pressed on.
But then she came across something horrible.
Large... images(?) of a wolf, a chicken, a gator, and the aforementioned bear.
Oh, Keiki just couldn't handle it anymore.
Wolves, birds of any kind, her least favorite animals.
Oh how she hated beast spirits.
