I don't have family members who like me, I don't have friends, a pet, or a boyfriend. So I ran to the place I knew the most, Corner coffee. Which is the coffee shop Brian and I were at earlier.

It's 11:43 at night, and I'm a young girl walking down the streets of a deserted place in New York City. "It isn't safe here," I think. Then all of the sudden an old man in his early 60's jumps out of a dark, dirt covered corner. "WHAT THE HELL!" I scream. "shhhhhh." He says as he puts his grimy hands over my mouth. "Get your hands off me or I will scream." I say quietly while my mouth is being muffled. "Ok, ok." He says. "What the fuck do you want old man?" I said. "I'm starving, I have nothing to eat nor drink. Please miss, help me, just get me food I beg." He says desperately. "Well, I would but you came out AND GRABBED ME!" I yell once again. "I'm so sorry miss, it's just that no one comes walking down these streets at night. Please give me food miss, may God be with you, God bless." He says while disappearing into his brick corner.

"What the actual fuck was that?" I thought to myself. That was a very very random incident, I guess I should pretend it didn't happen. People down in New York are creepy as hell. But I guess that's pretty normal for the city. "I feel so invaded." I grimaced while the memories flooded back into my head. Fuck my life.

I continue walking down the sidewalk, in twenty minutes I reach the coffee place. "Thank god it's open 24/7. No wonder why I love this place so much."

I reach in my bag to take out my phone. I dialed the number, and after two rings they picked up. A raspy voice answered. "Hello?" He asked. "Hey Brian, it's me, Harper," I said. "Oh, um, hey Harper. Is something wrong?" He asks.

"Yeah, well my mom sorda kicked me out of the house." I quietly spoke, he then grunts "ok fine I got kicked out, so I was wondering-." I said before being stopped. "You could crash at my place for a little bit." He said. "Actually I was wondering if you had a friend who had a room up for rent or something." I said awkwardly. The other side of the line is silent. "Damn it, I wanted to experience what it was like to have a sleepover with a girl. We could binge watch orange is the new black, eat ice-cream, cry, and talk about boys!" He said in a very high pitched voice. "That sounds great." I say. "Wait really? I mean I'll pick you up," He said confidently. "But wait you don't know where-," I get cut off yet again. "Coffee Corner," He says.

In about twenty minutes a maroon colored Honda pulls up to the coffee shop. Brian grabs something in the passengers seat, he holds it up and shakes it in the air so I notice. It's a giant five pint cup of chocolate ice-cream."look what I gotttt," he said enthusiastically. "You're the best!" I squeal. "I've never heard a noise like that come out of a human before," He chuckles. I hop in and I notice a picture clipped to the flip down mirror of his car. "Hey who is that woman next to you?" I ask. "I would rather not talk about it," he says stubbornly. "Brian if we are going to be friends you have to share stuff with me," I said. "It's my mother, she passed away two years ago, are you happy now?," he asks while his eyes glaze over. "I'm so sorry, I-I didn't know," I said with a hint of sadness in my voice. "It's fine, sorry for snapping at you," he apologizes. I then squeeze his arm for comfort. He smiles slightly. "Her name was Sarah, she had big green eyes, she was very short, but she had a huge heart," he said. "She sounds great, she was very lucky to have you." Brian then grins. "Wow it's been less then twenty-four hours and we are getting deep." I laugh trying to lighten up the mood. "Oh I'm sorry," he said. "No, no, no I actually like it." I said sweetly. "I like it too," he said. We drive off into the night, with a five pint cup of ice-cream and a stranger who I'm starting to like.
