The broken pieces of yesterday, Remind me, Of the better place I stand on today.
Ashes, ashes, Burned into crisps, My past, make me believe.
My life was a healthy splash of color, Painted to life by an unseen Hand, The presence was tangible, I revered it, the highest of powers.
Then came he, of the wild grass fields And the flowery garden of thorns, Swaying me with the fire in his eyes, I tried to stand firm, the time immeasurable in itself.
I tried! I tried! I will speak when I stand before the sword, He of the sevenfold Spirit will listen, my heart says so The demon broke me, the cowardly fox! I tried I tried!
My voiceless cries will echo in heaven I reckon, For my whole being is innocent, Corrupted by the black hand, Which brought me down on my knees, With a single touch.
Burn! Burn! You worthless body! I reject this worthless piece of mold! I do not need a soul that cannot reject, I have no need for a spirit that cannot resist, Let it burn! Let it burn!
My soulless eyes rise up to the heavens, Will He listen? My cold hands tremble, Will He see?
Icy hails break my spirit, along with my bones Which shatter like so many shard of glass, My spirit looks on, As I stumble across the battlefield.
The mirror welcomes me, As I run towards it in increasing fervor, Like a child that hugs her mother, So I do, hoping for a burst of love I'd forgotten.
The mirror was none but He, Of the hair as white as snow, Of eyes that blazed with a ever burning flame, Of those nail-pierced hands and feet, That broke for me.
He welcomed me as one would a lover, Or a best friend, He turned my silent tears into cries of joy, And held my hand, Leading me into a land of peace and wonder.
Where I was His, And He was mine, forever.
