The time you know that
you really love someone is the time
when they fall in love with someone else and you decide to not kick up a fuss
sometimes not to even tell them that
you love them so deeply and
you just let them go
All you want is for them to be happy
and if that means that they are
with someone else and not you
so be it
You just let it be and hope that
the person they're with loves them
as much as you love them and hope
that the other person makes them
happy for the rest of their lives
because you know that if they don't
that would hurt you because
if they're not treated right you know
deep within that you would've loved them
so much more and that's what
breaks your heart because
no matter how much you love them
you can't have them
Because their feelings for you
have never been there so
you never even had a chance.
So you just want them to be happy forever
No matter how many rivers you cry
And feel like someone just stabbed you
right through your heart and
How much you'd wish things
could've been different and
how much you struggle to let go
Even if it kills you in the process
It doesn't matter
As long as they're happy
That's real love
Not necessarily a happily ever after
Like in those fairy tales
If only there would be a person somewhere who'd wait for you to come around
Well that doesn't happen
in this world right
