A/N: This is the last chapter for the Kalos Arc! I will be going on a short hiatus after this chapter due to school. I have about 3 weeks left and my grades aren't looking too hot at the moment. "Barbaracle, Use Stone Edge!" Siebold ordered.
"Dragonite, break through it with Thunder Punch!" Vilnis called. As the Stone Edge rose from the ground, Dragonite smashed each beam apart with Thunder Punch. "Now Thunder Punch once more!" Dragonite gave a powerful blow, knocking out Barbaracle.
"Barbaracle is unable to battle. Which means Vilnis is the winner!" a referee announced.
It has been three days since Vilnis had won the Infinity Badge. He, Professor Sycamore, Ashley, Marco, Akito, Clemont, and Valerie had traveled to the Kalos Pokemon League so he could take on the Elite 4. First, he battled with Malva. Her specialty was fire type Pokemon. Pyroar was her ace and gave them a hard time at first. But Buizel was able to overcome Pyroar and win the match. Next was Wikstrom. His Aegislash almost bested Pumpkaboo, but Pumpkaboo finished it off with Flamethrower. After that, Vilnis challenged Drasna. Her Altaria was a strong but even match for Togekiss. Finally, Vilnis and Dragonite had defeated Siebold and his Barbaracle.
"It is quite something," Seibold said, approaching Vilnis. "Your battle style is just like art. Unique to you and spectacular to behold."
"Thank you, Seibold," Vilnis replied. "That was a fun battle."
"If I'm not mistaken, I am the last Elite 4 member you are meant to face, am I not?"
"That's right," Vilnis said.
"That means you will be facing off against Diantha next," Seibold said. "The Champion."
"I was at the edge of my seat during that last battle!" Ashley said, rushing to Vilnis. "It is still so unreal that we got to watch you battle with the Elite 4!"
"But now he gets to battle the Champion," Marco said catching up with Ashley.
"If you follow me," Seibold started. "I can lead you all to Diantha's chamber. Seibold led the group down the corridor to a set of large gray doors with golden trim highlighting the little details. Waiting outside was Diantha. The Champion.
"I see that you've successfully defeated each member of the Elite 4," Diantha said to Vilnis as they met outside her chambers. "Congratulations."
"Thank you, Champion," Vilnis said.
"Please, you can just call me Diantha," She blushed. "Are you ready for our match then?"
"I sure am," Vilnis said.
"Professor, would you mind acting as the referee?" Diantha asked.
"Of course not," Professor Sycamore replied. "It would be my honor."
"Well then, let's get started," She opened the door to let Professor Sycamore and Vilnis enter. As the rest of the group approached the doors, Diantha paused for a moment. "I'm sorry, but for this battle, you will all have to wait out here."
"Oh," Ashley said, a bit disappointed. "Well, good luck to both of you."
"Thank you," she said with a smile. "Please cheer your friend on from out here." She then closed the doors.
...
It had been a long time since Vilnis and Diantha started their battle. Nearly an hour had passed.
