Chapter 12

Anne's POV

I woke up in my hammok and I almost forgot what I overheard but it was clear to me after a bit I looked down and saw Hop Pop was stirring the boat I didn't want to go down and talk this time from what I overheard I looked into the sky wow the sky was so blue and clear I looked into the sky for awhile then I heard a spashing sound I thought Sprig must be spashing the water for fun but when I went to see if it was him I didn't see him the water was still spashing I watched the water for a minute the water spashed I guess Hop Pop thought it was Sprig too "Hey Sprig can you stop I'm trying to focus" he said the water kept spashing "Sprig I told you once do you need me to tell you again stop spashing" he said then he turned to the spashing then he gasped Sprig wasn't there the water was still spashing I kept watching after a bit of watching I heard spashing again I thought I saw something come up then I turned to the water and I saw a tail go into the water it looked like a mermaid tail it spashed I thought it was werid I know a mermaid saved me but still was it the same mermaid the tail looked green maybe it was I quickly got up from my hammok and ran down to the lower deck "Anne good morning" Hop Pop said I ran passed him and to the wooden railing I looked into the water "Umm Anne...are you going to say good morning to me or what" Hop Pop asked I didn't answer I didn't want to talk to him after I overheard him last night "Anne are you ok you are not answering me" he asked "I just don't want to talk to you because I saw something in the water" I said "Well what was it" he asked "I don't know it looked like a mermaid tail" I said "A mermaid tail hmm" he qustioned "Yes and also I overheard you last night" I said "You overheard me last night so you probably heard me say I'm worried about you getting hurt or worse I'm sorry you had to hear that" he said "It's ok and if you want me to be careful I will be careful" I said "No I didn't mean you should be careful I meant trying not to hurt yourself or get yourself killed I'm sorry" he said "It's ok I'll try not to get myself hurt or killed" I said "Thanks" he said "Yeah now I need to find out what I saw" I said "Ok I'll help you" he said "Ok thanks" I said "Yeah anytime" he said I looked back into the water and he followed my action I couldn't see anything I was still wondering if that was the mermaid we've been looking for since awhile ago I thought I saw it and went in for a closer look I relized I leaned in too far and my hands slipped and I fell in the water "Anne" Hop Pop shouted when I fell in I could only hear his mumpled shout I was stinking fast I tried to swim up but the presure in the water was pulling me down I was losing air then I felt arms grab me and something was bringing me up I looked at it and it was the mermaid I gasped it looked like the mermaid that saved me when the storm wreaked our boat I looked at it in the eyes I noticed it was a girl yeah she must've had short hair but I could tell she brang me up and threw me on the boat "Anne" Hop Pop shouted coming over to me I wasn't coughing this time "I'm fine HP it's just I think I was right it was the mermaid that saved me the mermaid we were trying to find I just need to find out what her name is and-" I said but then I was cut off "Wait her" he asked "Yes it's a girl anyway I need to get her out of here Sasha is looking for her and who knows what the towns people will do you remember the legend you told us right" I asked "Yeah I do Sasha might hurt her and the towns people might as well ok I'll give you space ok" he said walking away "Ok thanks" I said "No problem" he said I waited until he was completely gone I looked back into the water "Hey it's ok I won't hurt you please show me your face" I said it took awhile then I heard "Ok I'll show you only because I trust you, you won't hurt me" she said then she came up she was pretty she had black hair and green gills "So you are the one who saved me" I asked "Yeah I am is that ok I just saw you in danger and I wanted to help you" she said "Ok good to know have you been following us" I asked "Yeah it that ok my dad thinks humans can't be trusted and I just want to prove it to him most humans can be trusted" she said "Well your dad must be very strict" I said "He is" she said "May I ask you what's your name mine is Anne" I said "My name is Marcy nice to meet you Anne you look very pretty by the way" she said "Why thanks you too" I said "Well thank you that means a lot because everyone I've ever meet never said anyting like that to me so thank you" she said "Aww really" I asked "Yeah why" she asked "Well I know how hard it is to feel like that" I said "Thanks Anne" she said "Your welcome" I said we stayed there talking about random stuff "Hey I need to get out of here there is a person named Sasha who wants to catch you and show you to a town full of people who believes one person that saw you one night" I said "Really I saw that guy do the towns people want to hurt me" she asked "I don't know probably but I know Sasha wants to hurt you I think but follow us and we'll get you to safety" I said "No I don't want to my father, my kingdom is in these waters and I'm not leaving these waters" she said "You kingdom are you-" I asked but then I was cut off "Yes I am a princess, I'm the princess of all the mermaids" she said "You're the princess I heard what happened I heard the legend how is your dad doing" I asked "He's not doing good he is overprotective towards me I know he wants to protect me but I want to go explore and do things that are only in a life time but I'm ok I can handle him I'll tell him that we need to move the kingdom to somewhere else and that most humans can be trusted how does that sound" she asked "That's sounds good go tell your dad and I'll tell my adopted grandfather ok" I said "Ok see you tonight and we'll discuss a plan" she said "Yeah see you tonight" I said we shoke hands and I waved goodbye she did too and went back into the water I lowered my hand and yelled for Hop Pop to come out "Did it go ok did you find out what is her name" he asked "Hop Pop I gotta ask you something" I said "What is it" he asked "Well you see she doesn't want to leave her father and kingdom behind it is ok if we escort a whole kingdom out of these waters" I asked "Well you see one mermaid is fine but a whole kingdom that's a lot I guess it couldn't hurt anyway so yeah sure" he said "Thanks" I said "Anytime are you going to meet with her again" he asked "Yeah tonight what do you think" I asked "That's a good time but do it when me, Sprig, and Polly are heading to sleep so we won't bother you also her name what's her name" he asked "Her name is Marcy" I said "That's a good name" he said "Yeah she is pretty too" I said "That't good" he said "Well I'mma just wait up on the balcony ok I'll be up there if you need me" I said "Ok" he said then I ran up to the balcony and sat next to my hammok I wonder if Marcy has told her dad yet and what did he say I thought while waiting.

Marcy's POV

I swam back to the kingdom I relized I've been gone for sevral days the kingdom was probably on high alert I swam inside and saw my dad look up "Marcy you're ok where did you go I was so worried" he said swimming up from his throne "I jjust come back to ask you something" I said "What is it" he asked "Well you see that one night when I accidentally showed myself to a sailor he told a town full of people they believed him and now we need to get out of here because someone is looking for me and probably wants to kill me" I said "Marcy what" he asked "Ok, ok I know this seems werid of something to go along with but there is a human who is willing for us to follow her boat to safer waters" I said "A human" he said angerily "Yes a human" I said scared "A human...what did I tell you about trusting a human" he asked me angry "You said not to but hear me out this one is willing to save us from the town" I said "Why would you every trust a human they probably are trying to lear us in and take us away from our kingdom so they can kill all of us" he said angry "Please dad listen to me they won't do that I've met them they don't want to hurt us" I said "Shut it Marcy I can't believe you trusted a human...Guards" he shouted angrily "Yes sire" one of the guards said "Escort my daughter to her room and don't let her out of your site" he shouted again angrily "Yes sire" the same guard said him and another one came to escort me to my room "Please dad listen I know you never trusted a human before and when you did things didn't go well but this one is different I know they won't back stab us" I said he turned away from me "Come one dad" I shouted at him while the two guards started escorting me he looked at me "I'm doing this for our and your safety don't forget I lost your mother to humans and I can't lose you too" he said "God dang it..." I shouted "I wish you were never my dad" I yelled at him once I got out from the two guards hold his eyes widened then went down after a bit he made a angry face "Well I wish I never had you as my daughter" he yelled at me my eyes widened then the two guards escorted me into my room, shut the door, and locked it I didn't want to yell at my dad but he wasn't listing waited all day and when night time came I knew I had to find a way out somehow "Oh come on, come on it's time I need to meet up with Anne think, think" I said then I noticed my windows weren't shut all the way I quickly opened it all the way then swam out I had to leave something that would make it seem like I was sleeping I swam back in grabbed some pillows from my closet and put them in my bed then I covered them up and swam out threw the window again I closed the window to seem like I didn't sneak out at all I swam to where Anne's boat was heading.
