Nova Grey's life was over before it even started. She grew up with no family, no one to love her, powers she couldn't control and a very uncomfortable bed.
She had no one to protect her from the evil lingering in the shadows of her cell. She had no one to protect her from the horrible people all around her everyday. She didn't understand what was going on with her. The same day every year a random person would appear in the shadows of her room, following her, talking to her, some were nice while others.... were not so much.
Out of all her years one day stood out from the rest. The day her innocence was stolen, taken from her, the day everything really started going downhill. It's a day she will never forget, even when she's finally going to get out of her cell that's filled with trapped souls of people who've died and have "bothered" her over the years. Even when a kind older man takes her in and treats her like the parent she never had. Even when she meets a boy who listens to her, helps her through her current and past problems, and most important of all, believes in her.
