"You knew I was fragile but you fucking dropped me anyway," Dean croaked. He was sitting in the bleachers, legs propped up on the bench in front of him.
"I didn't mean to!"
"But you did anyway, leave me alone Cas."
"Dean please—-"
"No. Leave me alone. You abandoned me. You dropped me. Just leave, please."
Cas blinked quickly and stared at the Winchester. There were tears in the corner of Dean's eyes and the look on his face spoke of betrayal and pain.
"Please Dean."
"I don't want anymore excuses Cas."
"Fine. Just know that I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry," pain twisted his words and made them come out strangled.
"Too late," Dean muttered, he got up and walked away. Cas had known he was fragile. Dean had warned him. He had known he couldn't take rejection or even a little flirting with someone else. It hurt. It stung. It was a hot knife twisting in Dean's chest as he walked away from the person he had once loved.
Cas had cheated on him. Dropped him and rejected him like he was a crusty old grape. It hurt like hell to know his angel loved someone else. Cas said he hadn't meant to fall in love again.
Dean didn't believe him.
