Four days later.

"You know, Liv... I understand why Simone isn't carrying any bags but you couldn't grab a few?"

Toting only a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream, Olivia strolled nonchalantly to the couch and plopped down. She watched her twin struggle his way to the kitchen, balancing brown paper grocery bags up to his eyeballs in an attempt not to make a second trip back to the car. She felt a brief pang of conscience.

Not enough to offer her assistance, though.

"I was already dragged out of bed- well off the couch... against my will. You think I'm going to do free labor too?"

Jordan rolled his eyes at his dramatic sister as he finally sat his arsenal of health foods, protein powders and vitamins onto the kitchen island.

"Girl, someone had to drag you somewhere," Simone interjected. She brought up the rear as she locked the apartment door behind the trio and followed her boyfriend into the kitchen. "I should've dragged you to a closet. I can't believe you went outside in your pajamas."

Ignoring her digs, Olivia found the remote and settled into the cozy couch cushions even more. If the sofa tried to swallow her whole and end all of her misery that very moment, she would welcome it. With all the turmoil going on in the wounded girl's mind, the least of her concerns was someone seeing her Minnie Mouse pajamas at a Trader Joe's on a random morning.

"Babe, I can put everything away. You can go take your shower and get dressed so you can head to Spe- to head to campus."

The couple both grimaced at the slip up, glancing over their shoulders to see if Olivia had noticed.

She did.

"I don't know what's worse, the fact that you guys feel like you can't even say his name around me, or that my own twin is betraying me to go on secret hangouts with the enemy," she grumbled.

"The enemy? That's a reach, Liv. He's indulging in a little bit of self care and alone time. Stop taking everything so personal."

Jordan was trying his best to be empathetic, but the four days of watching Olivia mope around, skip class and sleep on his couch had his patience wearing thin.

"Alone time? Seems to me I'm the only one who got a special cut off notice," Liv huffed, crossing her arms as she sank impossibly deeper into the couch.

Simone opted to stay out of the conversation and busied herself with un-bagging their haul. She groaned internally as she put away the refrigerator goods. Not a single appetizing thing in sight.

Despite his girlfriend's offer, Jordan began helping with the groceries, moving to the cabinets to put away the non-perishables.

"You know what babe, I think I'm just gonna catch a shower at Spence's. Good luck with all of... that," he motioned to Olivia who stuck up a middle finger in response.

"Okay. Text me when you get there."

"Will do. And call me if you need anything. I mean it, anything."

"You swear I'm a damsel in distress. I'll be just fine," Simone chuckled, appreciating the extra care. She stood on her tippy toes and laced her hands around Jordan's neck as he leaned down to meet her lips and rub over her growing belly. Liv caught the affectionate moment out of the corner of her eye.

They had it all together.

Regardless of her own failure at love, she was thrilled that her twin found his person. She just wondered if she would ever be at the receiving end of such looks of adoration.
