My phone began to ring and I picked it up right away. "Hey babe." "Hey." "How's Chicago?" "It's good, but I miss you." "I know, I miss you so much." "It's hard being here without you." "I know, but you're living out your dream. I cant imagine how amazing that feels." "It would feel even better if you were here." "I know, and I wish I was there too, but school is just so busy right now. I should probably go, bye babe." "Bye."

Kirby was recently called up to go play for the Blackhawks but I was stuck in Canada with school, so he went by himself. Little does he know, that the reason I hung up on him was because I'm flying out to Chicago to surprise him.

I just arrived at the airport and I'm now boarding the plane. I settled down for the long flight and immediately fell asleep. When I woke up, the plane was landing. I began to get giddy thinking about seeing Kirby. It had been a bit, and I really missed him.

I grabbed my luggage and then found the rental car service to pick up a rental car so that I can drive myself around Chicago. I drove to my hotel and dropped my stuff off before pulling up the address of the place he's staying at and starting my drive there.

When I arrive at the place, I park a bit down the road then walk the rest of the way there. I stick my phone in my back pocket and knock on the door, hoping that Kirby is the one to answer. Unfortunately, someone I don't know opens the door. "Can I help you?" "Hi, sorry, I'm Kirby's girlfriend and I flew in from Canada to surprise him. Is he home?" "Oh my God. I recognize you! He isn't home right now but maybe go sit in his room and when he comes home you can surprise him. He should be on his way." "Thank you so much."

I lay down on his bed and scroll through my phone until I hear someone walk in and the guy who let me in loudly speaks. "Hey Kirby." I smile and go under his covers, waiting for him to walk in. I hear his door open and him stop. "What the... What is in my bed?" He walks over and lifts up the covers, and I can see the shock on his face. "Baby! What are you doing here?" "I came to surprise you!" "I missed you so much." He throws down his bag and climbs into the bed with me.

"I'm cuddling you for the rest of the night." "Sounds good to me." "I love you baby." "I love you too Kirby."
