Damian was feeling a lot of things right now. He was ecstatic to see his sister again, but her adopted father had just been murdered, and her adopted mother was in no better shape. The Joker had done it, and he was absolutely furious that he couldn't have been there to stop it. He had missed his sister so much while he had believed she was dead, and now she was going to see her again, but she would be devastated when he got there.

This wasn't how their reunion should be going.

Damian also found himself feeling a profound guilt. He had left her to die. He hadn't known it at the time, but he left her there. He abandoned her.

He pushed those thoughts away. All that mattered right then was getting to Paris to see her. He and Father were already on their way out the door when Jason and Tim stopped them.

Damian was experiencing tunnel vision, he just had to go, so he left Father to explain, at which point, his brothers decided they would join him and Father.

Damian didn't care, he just needed to get to Paris.

They ended up on a 7 and a half hour flight to Paris. Damian was exhausted but he couldn't sleep, he was too worried.

By the time they made it to Paris it was nearly 3 o'clock local time, and Dick had just arrived to drag them to the apartment.

The first thing Damain noticed was that Marinette wasn't there.

"She's at school, she insisted on going still, she just wanted to see her friends after what happened." That was what Dick said.

"Then I guess that's where I'm going," Damian said. He would not compromise.

"The school day ends in twenty minutes, it should only take you that long to get there," Dick said.

"I'll go with," Jason offered. Damian scoffed.

"I do not need your assistance Todd," he replied.

"Jason is going with, I don't feel comfortable with you going out into the city on your own," Father said. Fine then.

"Fine, Grayson, text me her location." Damian walked off without waiting for a reply. By the time he got out of the airport Dick had sent him directions and Jason was right by his side.

He hadn't let his nerves hit him all day, but the moment he got within a one block distance from his Angel's school, his nerves hit him like a truck. His hands shook slightly and his knees felt weak.

He sped up his pace. By the time he and Jason had reached the school, the bell had rung and there were students exiting the building. He saw, at the very back of the crowd of students, was his Angel, he would recognize her anywhere.

She was older, yes, and a bit taller, but her hair, and her facial features were nearly identical to her ten-year-old self. He was frozen in place.

Until he saw a girl shout something at his Angel. She had just shouted an insult at his twin.

He was no longer frozen. He rushed forward into the crowd, leaving Jason behind him.

"Shut up Alya," a blonde boy shouted from beside his Angel. There was another boy beside her as well with a buzz cut and dark skin. He was comforting her. Good.

He approached the girl he called 'Alya,' and he punched her in the jaw. She sputtered, and stumbled backward.

"Never speak to my sister that way again, or I swear on my own life you will not live to regret it you harlot," he threatened. He heard the two boys beside Marinette sputtering. The girl ran off. The boys didn't say anything, and Damian tentatively turned his gaze toward Marinette.
