"Mamma?" the nine-year-old called as she noticed the look on her mother's eyes... something wasn't right

"Come here bella" she said picking the girl up, wanting to feel her baby close to her "I love you tesoro" she said holding in her tears but Luna who had her mom into sight could tell they didn't have anything good to tell her

"I love you too mamma" she said grabbing one of the strands of hair of the brunette and the woman had to contain the sob that wanted to come out

Maya that looked at the interaction with Emma in her arms couldn't maintain her daughter's gaze. This shouldn't be happening... this couldn't be happening

"I'll stay with you and mommy?" she asked, fearing that she already knew the answer

That's when they both broke. Carina that had the girl in her arms tightened her grip on the girl as Maya came closer to them using one of her hands to rub the girl's back softly

"No bella" Carina said feeling as her lip started to quiver

"...but I'm a DeLuca-Bishop" she said as her voice started to tremble "I promise I'll behave and make Emma behave and help in the house..." the kid said not being able to hold her tears any longer, knowing no matter what she said there was not turning back "You promised I'll be a DeLuca-Bishop" she said now fully breaking

"And we tried sweet girl" the brunette said sitting on the bench her daughters were sitting before "You will always be a DeLuca-Bishop no matter what"

"I don't want to leave" she said letting herself cry in the arms of her mamma

"I'm leaving too?" Emma asked as she heard what her sister said earning a little shook of the head from Maya

Luna couldn't help but cry harder. Her sister was staying, and although she was happy that her sister was going to be safe, that meant she was going to be alone

Maya and Carina couldn't stop reliving the moments after the trial. The moment they told the nine-year-old she wasn't staying, when they told her her sister was but she wasn't.

It was a quiet morning. The couple couldn't sleep, knowing the social worker was set to come next day at around 10 am to take the girl to her new home. They decided to stay awake with both kids on the middle of the bed and just look at them, enjoying their last night together

Being able to count the time they had left with the kid caused a different kind of pain they had never felt before, and what made it worst was that they couldn't make anything to fix it.

After a few minutes, the girl slowly started to wake up, her heavy eyes peeling open as she blinked away her tiredness. As soon as she opened her eyes, she remembered yesterday's events and felt her eyes start to well up with tears. Her mom stroked slowly her hair while Carina rubbed softly the girl's arm, trying to show her how much they loved her

"It's okay love" the blonde said "You are okay"

"I want to stay" she whispered not being able to keep her eyes from crying. They hated to see how broken the girl was

"We will always be with you" Carina said placing a sof kiss on the girl's forehead "you will always be a part of this family" she stated trying to swallow the lump in her throat

"Always?" the girl asked needing that reassurance

"Always" the blonde answered this time

And with that the day began, Maya starting to wake Emma while Carina got up taking Luna with her to have their last breakfast together
