After a long and treacherous journey, the Yale Bulldogs appear in the national championship game against their in-state rivals, Quinnipiac on Saturday night in the steel city. Jeff Malcom and Eric Hartzell matched zeros in the first period so, no score after one in the national title game. With 4 seconds left in the second period, Clinton Bourbonais scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 1-0 Yale. Malcom and Hartzell matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, 1-0 Bulldogs heading to the second intermission. With 16:25 left in the third period, Charles Orzetti scored his second goal of the season to make it 2-0 Yale. With 10:54 left in the third period, Andrew Miller scored his eighteenth goal of the season to make it 3-0 Bulldogs. With 6:58 left in the third period, Jesse Root scored his twelfth goal of the season, into an empty net to make it 4-0 Yale! Jeff Malcom finished off the Bobcats and Yale wins the national championship by a score of 4-0!
