When I first met you,
I was crying.
You held me and talked to me
reassuring me that everything
would be okay.

As the years passed,
you became my best friend.
I learned so much from you.
I laughed with you.
I played games
and learned jokes
with you.

Time went on longer
and so did our hugs.
The hugs grew
tighter, but they
felt weaker every
time.
The last time I hugged you,
you were warm.
Something about that hug
didn't feel right
though.

I remember
when I was little
you used to
kiss my forehead.
It felt so
comforting.

So, the last time
I saw you,
I was finally able
to kiss yours.

I bent down into your casket,
"I love you. Always." I whispered.
I kissed your forehead,
wiped my tears,
and walked out
of the funeral home.
