Note; This will be a short chapter <3

Since it has been awhile, my writing style has changed. Thank you all for the support and love for my stories. As a creator, I might actually cry, it means so much to me. Please by all means, keep doing that!

Zenitsu's POV

I stared at the person as they spoke, just scared out of my mind. Tanjiro, in that moment, looked to me with a reassuring smile. A smile that said, ' Everything is going to be okay! I promise!' I loved that smile. However, I was envious of it. I sighed, giving Tanjiro a nod of understanding.

" Hey, Zenitsu, you don't look comfortable," said the red haired boy, " Why don't you go off to the side while I discuss this."

" Gah, thought you'd never say that!" I exclaimed, immediately running off.

Third Person POV

Yasu cackled, placing their Ocarina in its holder. Tanjiro regarded the laughter with disettlement and confusion.

" Eheh," he chuttered, " So, Yasu, what was with that comment? Like, don't thank you just yet. What message are you getting across?" Tanjiro asked.

Yasu simply responded with a short huff, before eventually working up their words to speak, " That Inosuke guy," they murmured, " I know his whereabouts."

The red headed boy's face enlightened with joy on the spot, " Oh really? Do tell!" he paused, " Wait... How do I know you can be trusted?" He asked, placing a gentle hand on his sword and tapping his thumb on the end of the handle.

The figure bit their lip, " That's the thing," they smirked, " You barely know me. I could be a demon-" they were cut off to a sword tip pressed gently to their neck. Yasu raised their hands defensively, " For all you know." They finished.

" Well, are you?" asked Tanjiro.

" Am I?" the other countered.

" Since you're completely avoiding the question, I'm going to assume you are. But, I won't kill you just yet." He muttered, lowering his blade and sheathing it. Yasu sighed of relief, lowering their hands.

" Thanks-" they said, quite gratefully.

" Don't thank me just yet," he grinned as he said this, tilting his head, " Tell me where Inosuke is. All I know is the north and a waterfall. 'N I will spare your head."

" Ugh, fine. I'll write it down for 'ya." Yasu groaned in annoyance, walking away to a bloodstained desk in the corner. They sat oddly in the chair, on their toes, their back hunched over. They began to write traditionally, pen and ink.

As Tanjiro waited, he looked around. There were plenty of hand-drawn pictures on the wall. As he looked across the line of portraits, they got better, more talented. He was awestruck, until the last picture, it was bloodied on the corners, a single person's face slashed out of the paper with what would be claws. He stood there, deep in wonder for a while. Such a happy looking family, why cross it out? Eventually, Yasu approached Tanjiro, holding out a slip of paper. The boy took the paper and slid it into his pocket. He locked his hands to his sides and bowed to Yasu.

" Thank you! So much! Your token is greatly appreciated!" he exclaimed.

Yasu sneered, clearly judging Tanjiro's behaviour, " Yeah, yeah, whatever, weirdo." They huffed, walking back to their window sill. Yasu hopped up, pulled out their Ocarina and began to play the same soft tune. The same calm, quiet, but high octave tune.

" So, I guess this is goodbye?" asked Tanjiro as he had turned to leave.

" Mm'yep," hummed Yasu, " Wish you luck. Now 'git, go find your buddy." They waved their free hand at the boy.

" Yes'sum!" Tanjiro yelped, hurrying out to Zenitsu. He explained everything, but not the part of Inosuke's whereabouts. He kept that to himself for now. So, off they go, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko. Off to, ' Complete a mission.'
