As Choi and I jogged towards the laboratory, an idea struck me like lightning, “Hey.” I said, coming to an abrupt halt.

He stopped too, looking at me with an impatient expression, “What now?”

“What if we get a scientist’s uniform and change into that? Wouldn’t that make our job way easier? There are a lot of people inside, and blending in would give us better access.” I gestured toward the looming building ahead.

Choi raised an eyebrow. “And where, exactly, do you suggest we find not one, but two uniforms?” His skepticism was palpable.

I tapped my earpiece, “Princess? Doberman? Any ideas?”

There was a moment of silence before Mingi’s voice buzzed through, “Let me check,” The sound of aggressive typing followed, and I could almost picture him hunched over his keyboard, his brows furrowed. “Aha! There are three spare uniforms lying behind the building. If you’re careful, you should be able to grab them without any trouble.”

“Chances are they’re uniforms that didn’t fit some fatasses, so they just left them lying around,” Yeosang added, his voice dripping with his usual sarcasm, “what a bunch of idiots.”

Choi and I exchanged a glance before heading toward the back of the building, our steps light and deliberate. The air felt heavier as we got closer, every shadow and sound putting us on edge.

“Wait,” I whispered, holding up a hand to stop him. “We’ll have to go all the way back to the hut to change.”

Choi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well, it’s better than getting caught half-naked out here.”

I nodded in agreement. My eyes darted around until they landed on a crumpled uniform tucked against a small stack of crates. I dashed toward it, snatching it up quickly while keeping an eye on my surroundings.

“Got mine.” Choi called out softly, slinging his uniform over his shoulder. Without wasting a second, we started back toward the hut, moving swiftly but cautiously.

“That was actually a good idea, Silver.” Yeosang said through the earpiece, his voice laced with rare praise, “It’ll make your mission at least five times easier.”

“Thanks, Doberman.” I replied with a small smile, feeling a twinge of satisfaction.

The moment we entered the hut, Choi wasted no time. He kicked off his boots and began unbuckling his black pants, unceremoniously tossing his extra weapon hilts onto a nearby chair.
