Seeing that no one was at the door, Jisoo turned around. He handed Rain to Darna then walked out.

Rosé walked to the couch with difficulty and lowered her body. She held the back of the couch with one hand and sat down slowly. Then she took a glass of water from the tea table and sipped it slowly.

She was completely silent.

Rosé had always been bright and beautiful in front of everyone, like the sun when she was in a good mood, like the moonlight when she was in a bad mood. When in a bad mood, she always acted very cautiously, as if she were very similar to her brother, Lisa. After all, they were a brother and a sister, and of course, there were many similarities between them.

Lisa had some good points, and Rosé also had some good points.

It was just that Jisoo suddenly felt a sense of unfamiliarity towards the woman who was sitting quietly and drinking water.

It was even stranger than the one he had seen in the Manoban Family's residence back then, the one who was kneeling on the ground with the big belly.

Jisoo's gaze swept to the couch she was sitting on. The cover was indeed recently changed and remembering what had happened when his parents and grandmother came to stay for a few days, he walked over and sat on the couch opposite her. He also poured a glass of water for himself, drank one mouthful, put it down, and said, "Rosé, let's talk."

Rosé.

It had been a long time since Jisoo had called her by her name.

Rosé looked up at him and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

"For Rain's sake, I can find time to come back and visit often, or at least to ensure her having a healthy and happy childhood. I've thought about it, no matter what, I do not want my daughter to lack anything compared to other children." As he spoke, Jisoo took off his suit jacket, put one arm on the couch, and looked at her with calm and deep eyes.

"I think you should understand why I never want to go back. But now, the time has come and the child is indeed innocent. I repent in this aspect of the child. Whatever conditions you have, I will accept it."

Rosé just stared at him for a long time before her grip on the glass tightened. Moments later, she put down the glass and stood up, saying indifferently, "Let Rain grow happily. I have no conditions. I'm afraid I don't have the qualifications to consult with you."

As Rosé said that, she pursed her lips into a self-deprecating smile, glancing at him indifferently before she turned around and limped toward the stairs.

When she strenuously walked up two steps, her whole body swayed due to her sprained ankle. Luckily, her hand was on the handrail and she did not fall down.

Hearing the soft sound from the other side of the stairs, Jisoo turned around and saw Rosé squatting in front of it and hissed in pain. He frowned, got up and walked over, then lowered his head and asked, "How long are you going to pretend to be tough?"

As he spoke, he lowered his body to help her. When his hand was about to touch her arm, Rosé instinctively backed away, as if she didn't want him to touch her.

Jisoo paused for a moment and looked at her with a slightly cold look. "Are you trying to piss me off?"

Rosé turned around and silently stared into his eyes. Then she tilted her head and laughed softly, "Jisoo, if falling in love with you that year was a mistake, I admit that I regret it. But it's too late to regret now. I didn't tell the Manoban Family the night Rain was born. I regretted it when I was alone in the ice-cold hospital, but it was already too late. I never thought to force you to do anything, be it this marriage or the child. I know you don't believe me and are always continuously accusing me of everything, so can you continue to be like before?"

As she spoke, she tried to stand up on her own and said in a light voice, "You made me offer a condition only to warn me not to have improper thoughts about you. You and I still have nothing to do with each other. I don't need your warning. I've seen it clearly."

Rosé had already stood up a little, but because her ankle was swollen, the pain caused her entire face to turn slightly pale, and a layer of sweat began to seep out from her forehead.

Jisoo pursed his lips, coldly watching her acting tough. Even though her hands on the handrail were already white, she was still clenching her teeth and kept holding on.

Jisoo sighed helplessly, softly cursing out loud, then directly grabbed her arm. He then lifted her by the waist.

Rosé let out a startled cry but did her best to control her voice so as not to scare the child that was still in the next room.

Jisoo glanced at her before carrying her to the second floor.

"Release–" Just as Rosé was about to speak, Jisoo said harshly in a cold voice, "Stop acting like a child. You should know how swollen your ankle is right now. Do you want me to send you back to your bedroom or do you want to force yourself to climb the stairs until your feet become half-crippled?"

Even though he said that, he didn't give her any choice. Under her startled gaze, he carried her to the bedroom. He turned his back to the door and gently pushed it open. Then, he carried her inside.

After putting her on the bed, he glanced at her ankles and said in a calm voice, "The doctor told you to rest for at least a week. I know you don't like staying at home doing anything, but this time you have to. It's for your own goods anyway."

After speaking, Jisoo glanced at Rosé for a moment, then turned around and walked towards the door.

Rosé wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in her throat. When Jisoo was about to leave the bedroom, she said, "Since you intend to return here, I'll ask Dalisay to clean up the other bedroom."

Jisoo acted as if he hadn't heard her and walked out, closing the door at the same time.
