A bit of a story time:

Senior year I was bullied by my best friend's boyfriend. He saw me as a threat and craved control (or so I was told). My friends decided to stay neutral— continue to date him and/or continue friendships with him.

Because I loved them— I let them.

I was disposable.

I was abandoned by my parents as a child and, though it made it easy for me to cut people out of my life like paper on a string, it made it even harder to do so for people I truly cared about.

It took me having a breakdown for them to see it was crippling me. Even after he still tried to see what he could get away with— the truth is— the saga hasn't ended— I hope I get to keep the people I love.
