I get inside and hurry up the stairs, I open his bedroom door and lay him down on his bed, Hiccup groans at the sudden movement, then slowly blinks his eyes open,
"You good there? Had quite the fall. I honestly thought that dragon was gonna eat you alive." I chuckle dryly, sitting down on the edge of his bed.

Hiccup sits up and rubs his head then lets out a defeated sigh, his arms going limp either side of him, I raise an eyebrow at his body language, which he takes notice of.
"Sorry, I just- I just thought that if I was able to prove I could kill a dragon then Dad would finally be proud of me... But I couldn't even do that, ugh, I'm such a screw up!" Hiccup explains, jumping up to his feet in anger at himself

I sit silent for a moment before gently pulling him back down beside me, "Y'know why I don't join them in fighting dragons?" I ask calmly, he looks down in thought then looks back up

"Because you don't care for the matter?" He asks with a quite voice, figetting with his hands, I shake my head in reply

"No, it's because I can't either, I tried to once too, but I just couldn't do it. The thing is, Hiccup. Not everyone is like that, no matter how hard they try to be, their true self  will be revealed when image and heart are at the peak of their battle. Instead of trying to change who you are to please others, to portray an image of yourself that people around you like, embrace yourself and the people who really matter in your life will find you, and those judgy fools won't be heard any longer." I explain, Hiccup looks at me in shock for a moment before smiling and hugging my torso

I chuckle at his gesture and hug him back, before he lets go I hear him whisper a small "Thank you." I stand up and turn back to him

"No problem little bro. Anyways, I'm feeling kind of hungry, wanna go raid the kitchen." I ask with a sly grin

"Won't we get in trouble?" Hiccup questions, raising his eyebrow this time, I roll my eyes and grab his arm, pulling him along with a smile

"You only live once twirp!" I say as we race down the stairs to the kitchen, I grab two apples, a small bread loaf and a few other foods, which Hiccup joins in on. We continue to giggle at our bad behavior before turning to each other, seeing us both have mouths full of food, we crack up laughing and then we hear a door open, making us freeze

"Quick, give me your food, we both know I'm faster than you." I say and he hands them to me with a glare and I race up the stairs before our Dad can question our giggling from before, as Hiccup goes to follow me he's caught by Dad, I shrug it off and continue to my room, shutting the door behind me.

Soon enough I hear heavy footsteps come up the stairs and I hide the small pieces of food under my bed, I don't have enough time to get up off the floor so in panic I pretend to meditate, Dad opens the door and we make eye contact, he looks at me in confusion then walks over, I stand up and he opens his arms. By the way he looks, he's going to go try to find the dragon's nest again, making me sigh

"Again?" I ask dryly, but still hug him, he wraps his arms around me and gives a big squeeze, lifting me off the ground before gently setting me down and letting me go

"You know I have to, (Y/n). I wish things were different but as long as dragons are around we won't survive. Goodbye child, I love you." Dad says, before kissing me on the head and leaving, once again.

I sigh deeply and sit down beside my bed, taking out an apple from underneath and biting into it, suddenly Dad comes back to say something, "Oh, and by the way you'll be doing dragon training with Hiccup while I'm away." He says and rushes out the door

"What?! Oh, come on!"
