CHAPTER 9

Tanah was exhausted

After they got home, no one was talking the house was filled with silence that tanah didn't think would ever happen

He just came back from school and he wanted nothing more but to go to the shop and meet his brothers who he hadn't seen for the whole day (except for breakfast)

But he was not expecting the scene Infront of him after his arrival, everyone was acting strange, stranger than usual and with brothers like api and Angin that enough is an understatement

Of course he didn't say anything and just continue to do his chores but when they got home he saw Cahaya and petir head up to their rooms

Something felt off...

So...before dinner he went to the balcony and saw Cahaya looking at the stars with sad eyes, tanah started to wonder what nightmare did cahaya have to have him so depressed

"Cahaya?" Tanah called out his name softly, he sat next to him and also gaze at the glimmering night sky

Cahaya was not surprised when he heard tanah called out his name, he had expected it, he didn't know if he should be happy or sad when tanah called out his name, it reminded him of another set of memory

Solar was staring at the starts, books and papers were scattered around the floor, his bed was in a messy state as he was

He and thunderstorm had a fight, a big fight, big enough to use their powers against each other, of course solar took some hits but thunderstorm was also a master with his swords

Solar felt someone open the door making him sigh "Cy, I told you not to bother me right now"

The footsteps stopped and silence fell in the room for 5 minutes, solar was now certain it wasn't cyclone, the wind brat wouldn't last a minute with out talking

It must be ice or quake then, but then again why would ice bother? So solar knew it was quake

"The stars seems to glow brightly tonight" quake's voice was soft and his golden eyes radiant with warmth

"What are you doing here? If your here to ask me to apologize than you could leave because I won't and you can't make me" solar said making quake shake his head lightly sitting next to solar

"I'm not here to make you do anything you don't want to" quake said with a gentle tone

"There is no way I'm apo- wait what?" Solar paused and looked at quake with a confused look, if he wasn't here for that then why is he here if not make him apologize to thunderstorm

"Solar it hurts me when you think that I'm here to force you to do something you don't want to do" quake said with an unmistakably pain in his voice

"Can you blame me?" Solar scoff and looked away from quake "you always take his side"

"I don't take anyone's side" quake said pursing his lips

"Yeah, is that what you tell yourself?" Solar knew he was being mean but it's seems the words just won't stop coming out of his mouth

"No, it is what I believed I have been doing" quake said sadly and as solar look at his eyes there was a hint of worry, exhaustion and old age "but it seems I was wrong"

Quake smiled trough the pain, it truly hurts him to see the brother's he raised fight each other so brutally it makes his heart ache

At the age of 6 quake was already taking care of his brothers, his parents weren't there, his mom dies at giving birth and his father had a job to do just to keep supporting them

quake may not be the oldest but he always felt to be responsible of his brothers, he has always been there for them taking care of them, feeding them and cooking for them, it gotten to the fact that quake became a parental figure to all his siblings

Growing up quake tries to stay out his brothers fight, making sure not to take sides, he always makes them apologize to each other or make them work things out before dinner so no one would have to sleep with a heavy chest

But it seems that, that is not how it was delivered to his siblings, solar thought he was defending thunderstorm since he told solar to shut up (though that was not his exact words that's what it is to solar), he only wanted the fight to end

Quake never blame his father as he know that his father is trying his hard to support seven kids while still mourning for his wife, quake knows his father loves them and never have he ever hold anything against him

But sometimes it was tiring, to act as a parental figure at the age of 6, when they came to pulu rintis it didn't change, yes tok aba was there to help him (whish he was grateful for) but their grandfather is already very old, quake doesn't want to burden him anymore

Silence fell in solar's room, solar closed his eyes but opened them he felt a cold liquid in his hands just to turn to his side and see quake healing his bruises

"You can believe what you want to believe, but I want to tell you that I will never take anyone's side, especially when both sides are important to me" quake said as he put a bandages at the bruises before looking at him in the eyes, his golden eyes shone bright at the moonlight

"You are my brother so is thunderstorm, he is my eldest and you are my youngest both are my siblings, both are important to me" quake said as he took off solar's visors and wipe the tears in his eyes "both, I can't live without"

Solar blinked and another tear slid in his cheek as quake rubbed it off

"You are my brother and I will always be with you" quake continued as he hugged solar letting the boy break down in his shoulder

"Now and forever"

Solar snapped back to reality, his breath hitch as tanah slid next to him while looking at the open sky

"The stars seems to glow brightly tonight"
