A/n: Hi!!! I'm finally back after such a long time and I'm sorry everything took so long. I had to catch up on a lot of stuff at school and had to manage some things. Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy this new post!

I'm also in my Sam and Colby era, so I might do another one of these oneshots but for them instead!

4TH YEAR

Groaning aloud as I clutch on my books and held it close to my chest, I block out the squeals of the girls who had been already asked to the Yule Ball. Up till now I had no one to ask me and I'm sort of starting to lose hope. Maybe I'll just go by myself or not even go at all if this continues to be the case. If worse comes to worse then I'll have to ask someone - a friend - to go with me.

Besides, it's not my fault that the guy I wanted didn't look nor planned to ask me.

"Why the long face, Lang?" Weasley teased when he had walked past you with Hermione and Potter

"Oh shove off, Weasley. It's not like you don't have a date either" I inwardly have a victorious smirk on the way he had glared at me after my statement

"So," Granger cleared her throat "Harry, you should go with Lang. It's not like you've gotten a date yet and it's not like she's gotten hers" Granger offered, continuing on despite the look of shock that Weasley threw at her

"Why are you helping Harry and not me?"

"Because you piss her off and don't even bother giving her a chance to like you!" She ignored the bewildered boy once and focused on us "So? What do you think?"

I entertain the idea for a quick moment. Potter and I weren't close and barely talked to each other despite being in the same house. This would also do good since we haven't gotten any dates. We could also just have this as a partnership of convenience

"I'm up for it if you are, Potter" I groan at the flushing boy under my gaze

"Y-yeah sure, Lang! Let's have a go at it"

"Great, just wait for us at the common room on the day of the Yule Ball" I smile and walk away, feeling the heavy weight lift off of my shoulders. I'd finally gotten a date! It didn't have to be romantic. All it had to be was so that we both wouldn't end up going alone.

"Dean! Seamus!" I call after the two boys eho sat by the fire place at the common room "Guess what?" I grinned as I plopped down on the spot beside them

"What?"

"I got myself a date for the Yule ball!"

"A date?" Dean spoke in shock. I would've gotten offended if he hadn't been one of my good friends. I nodded at his words and watched as his eyes filled with an emotion that I couldn't decipher

"Yeah! Isn't that great? I no longer have to go alone!" I grin, growing confused when I hear Dean mutter something that I couldn't understand "What was that? I couldn't hear you"

"Oh, he just said that y-" Dean had clamped his hand over Seamus' mouth before he could finishe the sentence. Turning to me after glaring a whole lot at Seamus who just looked amused, he turned to me,

"It's nothing that should worry that cute little head of yours"

By the time that the Yule Ball did come, everyone was busy getting ready. The boys were making sure that they looked as dashing as evet in their robes whilst the girls made sure that they looked like queens and princesses in their gowns. And in every group, there is always that one person that tries to make sure they and their peers look lovely.
