Tuesday

Nancy pov

The next morning, i woke up in the arm chair with Arthur on the sofa. When at Arthur's, we very often end up sleeping wherever since i don't have a bed time at his house. And he just doesn't care. I woke up groggily and adjusted to the light since the curtains never got closed last night

"Fucking hell" i groaned as I rolled to cover my face but just rolled off the chair with a bang. Arthur shot up on the sofa and fell on the floor aswell before groaning

"Fuck. What time is it?" He asked in his grumpy morning voice. I didn't move from the floor so he was forced to get up. He stumbled over to the clock and had to get very close to it since he was still half asleep

"It's 6am. Do you wanna go school?" He asked me

"Fuck no"

"Right answer" I grumbled as he walked over to me. He scooped me into his arms and took my upstairs to his bed. He flopped onto the mattress and ended up falling asleep on his stomach whilst I lay on his back. When we woke up again, we were alot more refreshed. It was 10 o'clock so Arthur got up

"Can I stay in bed?" I asked

"Sure luv" he replied ruffling my already bird nest like hair. He then got dressed and walked downstairs

Arthur pov

At 11 o'clock, I was sat with John, Finn and Tommy round my house. We were drinking as usual and there was abit of snow involved. We let finn try some but not much since he is still a kid. As we were laughing and talking, I heard little footsteps slowly trudge downstairs. Nancy emerged into the room. Her ginger curls were wild and her eyes half shut. She still had her pyjamas on

"Sleeping beauty's awake" John said chuckling. She looked at him seriously and just flipped him off. Then she walked around the table and sat on my knee

"She's meant to be in school Arthur. When she falls behind it'll be your fault" Tommy said sternly

"One day won't hurt" I said tickling her ribs

"You're right. But she misses every single day you look after her. That's 2 days every week and sometimes more" he said

"Ye but she was tired. Im not gonna send her to school if she's too tired am i" I said as i bounced her on my knee

"I've had a long night tommy" she said yawning

"I can see that. Big brother let you stay up til all hours ay?" He asked as he took her on his knee. She leant against his chest and nodded her head slowly

"Ay nance, you wanna go watch that new film tonight?" Finn asked

"Sure" she said resting her head on the table and falling asleep again

"Hang on. All films she sees have to be approved by us. What's it about?" John asked. We were very strict on what films our baby sister was allowed to see after we all took her to a film recommend by finn. And had to leave halfway through when the man was butt naked

"Don't worry. It's a family film. Charlie chaplin plays a tramp or something. Finds an abandoned kid and raises it. Supposed to be hilarious. It's called 'the kid" he explained

"Alright then. You can go but she's sleeping mine tonight and she needs to be back for 8" Tommy said. Finn agreed and then we got back to our card game

Nancy pov

At 12 o'clock, I woke up again and went to get dressed. Everyone had apparently gone to the betting shop so it was just me and finn in the house. He had to wait for me and then we made our way to the betting shop

"Oi oi" I said when I walked in. I grabbed a seat and began to draw as I always did at the betting shop

"Arthur you bloody liar" aunt pol said as she whacked him round the head

"Huh?" I asked

"He swore you had gone school today. You are gonna end up falling behind" she said sternly

"So? It's useless anyway. I don't need to know how to read and write. All I need to know is how to pick a rich husband and ill never have to do anything every again. Women these days all about girl power. But why? I'd be quite happy never having to work and just having a husband to do it for me whilst I sit in our mansion in America with many maids and servants" I said making her chuckle

"Oh jesus these boys are useless" esme said as she stood up and walked over to me

"I agree but what's caused it this time?" I asked

"They are incapable of maintaining your hair" she grumbled. My brothers were shit at it so esme or aunt pol would do it. Sometimes the teacher did it if they weren't free. Esme grabbed a brush from her bag and started brushing through my hair. She put it in a plat as I continued to draw.

"Thank you" I said when she went to sit back down

"You're welcome luv" she said to me. The rest of my day was pretty boring. At 2 o'clock I went and played out with some other kids who hadn't gone school either. We were running around in the mud until it started to rain. That's when i hears Tommy whistle so i ran back to the betting shop

"Bloody hell you're soaked" he said. He took his jacket off and wrapped it around me as he kissed my cheeks

"It rained" I said

"Ye no shit" finn grumbled. Teenagers 🙄

Tommy picked me up on his hip and got ready to leave

"Tommy, can you give us a lift to the cinema at half 6?" Finn asked

"She's not going cinema tonight. You'll have to go tomorrow" he said making both me and finn whine

"Why?" I asked grumpily

"Because you've been playing out in the rain. I want to make sure you don't get sick" he said

"You worry too much. She'll be fine" polly said

"And if you're right then that's great. But I don't wanna take my fucking chances" he groaned

"I promise we'll go tomorrow nance" finn said. I waved everyone goodbye and then Tommy went back to his house. He gave me a warm bath and got me dressed into my pyjamas. And as he was carrying me downstairs, I sneezed. He felt my forehead

"You've not got a temperature. Just a cold. But i told ya didn't i" he said as he put me down on the sofa

"I could he watching Charlie chaplin right about now. Shut up" I snapped as i sat sulking on the sofa with my arms crossed and my nose running. Bloody hell
