"Is he saying anything?" Fury asks over comms.
"Not a word." Natasha responds.
"Just get him here. We're low on time." He orders before the line goes dead. Steve, Stark and I all watch Loki from right behind the cockpit.
"I don't like it." Steve says, turning his back on him.
"What, Rock of Ages giving up so easily?" Tony asks.
"I don't remember it being that easy. This guy packs a wallop."
"That's cause it wasn't. What bad guy lets someone take him?" I respond.
"Someone who has nothing to lose..." Tony suggests. "But hey, you both are still pretty spry, for being senior citizens and everything. What's your thing? Pilates?" Steve and I give him matching looks of confusion and annoyance.
"What?" Steve asks.
"It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple of things doing time as a Capsicle. Not to mention your trip through time." Tony adds at the end, looking at me.
"Fury didn't tell us he was calling you in." Steve says, unimpressed by the only living member of the Stark line.
"Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you." The plane starts shaking as lightning cracks across the sky.
"Where's this coming from?" Natasha asks, concern written clearly over her face. I don't really start to panic until I see an ancient god start to look concerned.
"Scared of a little lightning?" Steve asks. I elbow him in the gut.
"I'm not overly fond of what follows." He deadpans. The jet shakes as a loud thud is heard on the roof and Steve has to grab me to keep me from falling to the ground. Steve places his cowl back on and Stark put his helmet on before opening the back hatch.
"What are you doing?" Steve asks. Just as Tony goes to inspect the outside, a man with a red cape appears. He hits Tony back into us with... a hammer? And we all fall to the ground.
When we all get up again, Loki and the other guy are gone. "And now there's that guy." Tony says.
"Another Asgardian?" Nat yells out from the front.
"My money would be on Thor. Thunder, hammers, an immense dislike for Loki." I answer. Steve looks at me. "What? You think we'd go after some Norse death cube back in the 40s and I wouldn't do my homework?" I ask. He shakes his head fondly at me.
"Do you think he'll be helpful or will he impede us?" Steve asks.
"Doesn't matter." Stark says. "If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost."
"Stark, we need a plan of attack!"
"I have a plan. Attack." He says before flying off.
"Mother fucker!" I exclaim before making sure my braid is tight enough. Steve gives me a look before grabbing a parachute. "Don't you start with me." I say, knowing how much Steve hates my potty mouth.
"I'd sit this one out, Cap, Phillips." Natasha says.
"I don't see how we can." He says, securing the parachute across his chest.
"These guys come from legend. They're basically gods."
"There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." Steve says before we jump out of the back of the plane.
"I'm going to go secure Loki! I'm expecting that Stark was more worried about taking out Thor than securing the prisoner!" I yell to him and he nods as best he can.
I land on a cliff and don't see Thor or Stark around anywhere. "What in the world?" I mumble before I see Loki staring down into the ravine. I slowly approach him, my fists glowing.
"You've been touched by the Tesseract and have survived. Not many people have that claim. I wonder what made you so worthy." He says before turning around.
"Nothing. I'm just an army brat." I say before moving to punch him. He lets me make contact with his face before securing his hands together. "Why are you letting us take you? What do you hope to gain from this maneuver?" I ask as I wait for Natasha to land the plane.
"I will watch them tear themselves apart. Do you really think you and your captain can survive in this new time you find yourselves in."
"I'm sure if you can manage, so can we, Loki son of Odin."
"Do not call me that!"
"How about Loki, Laufeyson? Is that better?"
"You mortals think yourselves so clever." He says, spitting through his teeth. "You will all kneel before me, before the end of this."
"I don't think so." I say before leading him to the jet that's landed.
Steve is there with the others already.
"Are you alright?" He asks, looking me over as Natasha and the other pilot take Loki from me.
"I'm ok Steve. He didn't hurt me."
"Then what does he want?" Stark and Thor have joined us by this point and we watch as they secure Loki back in his seat, locking him in place this time.
"To watch us tear ourselves apart."
❤️🤍💙
I finally got this updated. I know it's been awhile. I put a little mention of this on the story but I've decided to take it off hold and just update sporadically. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and all the other stories I'm currently working on or have finished. Love y'all!
